• Oppose. The original song by Sonny West was Rave On!. See the disc Atlantic 45-1174 or here. The Buddy Holly version doesn't have the '!' and that is the one pictured, not the original. The article text should be corrected to note this. Tassedethe (talk) 17:29, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Move Page

I see there is previous discussion in regards to retitling the page to suit Holly's release of the song. I agree with the reasoning, as Holly's recording is the first to receive notability; the exact same thing happened with the song "Oh, Boy!; the page was named with Holly's song, not West's original, which went by the name "All of My Love." -Disco dude rock (talk) 05:38, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Move to Rave On. After over a month and a relisting, we have clear consensus that the song is primary topic for both Rave On and Rave On!. There is also a rougher but decisive consensus to do away with the exclamation point. As such, the dab page will go to Rave On (disambiguation), the song will go to Rave On, and Rave On! will be a redirect. Cúchullain ^t/c 14:04, 26 August 2016 (UTC)

• Oppose – This song is still the primary topic for the "Rave On" or "Rave On!" term; no need to add a parenthetical disambiguator. Looks like the OP wants to re-open the earlier debate about removing the exclamation mark in the title (about which I have no opinion), but regardless of the spelling variant chosen, there is no need to tack on "(song)". — JFG ^talk 00:35, 12 August 2016 (UTC)

• My primary goal with the resulting move is consistency; if "Rave On" stays as it was originally written ("Rave On!"), then "Oh, Boy!" should be changed to "All Of My Love" as well. As it stands, both songs were covered and had the titles changed; one article uses the new title, one uses the old. -Disco dude rock (talk) 04:44, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
