Rave On!Rave On – No exclamation mark on the cover, and neither in the article text. The Evil IP address (talk) 10:02, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Move Page

edit

I see there is previous discussion in regards to retitling the page to suit Holly's release of the song. I agree with the reasoning, as Holly's recording is the first to receive notability; the exact same thing happened with the song "Oh, Boy!; the page was named with Holly's song, not West's original, which went by the name "All of My Love." -Disco dude rock (talk) 05:38, 23 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 11 August 2016

The result of the move request was: Move to Rave On. After over a month and a relisting, we have clear consensus that the song is primary topic for both Rave On and Rave On!. There is also a rougher but decisive consensus to do away with the exclamation point. As such, the dab page will go to Rave On (disambiguation), the song will go to Rave On, and Rave On! will be a redirect. Cúchullain t/c 14:04, 26 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Rave On!Rave On (song) – As with "Oh, Boy!, Holly's cover is one that gained notability as a hit single, and the spelling of that version was used. • Oppose – This song is still the primary topic for the "Rave On" or "Rave On!" term; no need to add a parenthetical disambiguator. Looks like the OP wants to re-open the earlier debate about removing the exclamation mark in the title (about which I have no opinion), but regardless of the spelling variant chosen, there is no need to tack on "(song)". — JFG talk 00:35, 12 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
