296 MI/326 MI edit

Many sources erroneously state that in 1958 Ferrari fielded '296 MI' model. In fact it had '326 MI' designation. YBSOne (talk) 12:55, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Ferrari has a long and ignoble history of retrospectively renaming its cars, especially on its website. If contemporary reports and reputable historians such as Doug Nye report that it was the 296 then I am far more inclined to believe them than the Ferrari website. Maybe I'll try to ask them? I also saw 296 in couple of sources but it still might be incorrect. Luckily it is on couple of pages in case it is needed to be restored. YBSOne (talk) 16:34, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
I'm sat in an airport transit lounge at the moment so I can't do much right now. However, when I get home I'll gladly check my archives and see what I can turn up. Pyrope 21:04, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
