Image copyright problem with Image:PandRseason2.jpg edit

The image Image:PandRseason2.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

The following images also have this problem:

Standard of article edit

As I came across this article today, I was appalled by the quality of this article. Apart from the fact of severe under referencing, the amount of "notable" content in the article was horrendous. Also, mistakes with even RTÉ and the unfree images really made steam come out of my ears. This page requires major clean up and many additional references. I don't mean to blow my own horn, but compared to some articles on RTÉ programmes (Radio and TV), this page has a barren reflist. Before I quickly added a few refs the page had but two references. I am requesting that editors please help out in fixing this under referencing problem.

HD section edit

RTÉ HD links to another Wikipedia page which then redirects back to this page. How can I access it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.107.132.87 (talk) 23:26, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

The content was removed because it was unreferenced. You can view it here. —  Cargoking  talk  17:29, 17 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Recent additions edit

I have reverted twice now additions made by IrishTV (talk · contribs) in relation to programming broadcast on RTÉ television. In the edits made, it states that RTÉ broadcast:

  • Lifestyle/Soap (Female Orientated)
  • Documentaries/Sports (Male Orientated)

There is no source for these edits and, in my opinion, appear to be extremely stereotypical and sexist. Some men watch 'Room to Improve', while plenty of women enjoy watching television programmes about history and geography as well as the odd soccer match. To avoid a further edit conflict, please discuss anymore edits on this page. Thanks, —  Cargoking  talk  19:16, 11 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

From 7pm to 9pm RTÉ One and RTÉ Two provide schedules aimed at different demographics. RTÉ One's schedule - at this time - is made up largely of programming aimed at a Female audience from Soap (EastEnders/Fair City) to Lifestyle (Room To Improve/My Showhouse), while over on RTÉ Two they complement this schedule with a range of programming aimed at a Male audience from Documentary to Sport. Now while it may seem "un-PC" to describe the schedule in such a manner since many men watch soaps and many women watch sports, RTÉ clearly define these two schedules between men and women, in the same way that their daytime schedules are aimed at 25 - 55 year olds (RTÉ One) and 4 - 25 year olds (RTÉ Two) with RTÉ Two's schedule clearly defined for audience demographics such as The Den (4 - 12), Den Tots (0 - 4) and TTV (15 - 25). Now ageism is just as un-PC as sexism, but demographics are what TV channels use to schedule their programmes, and demographics by their nature are un-PC. I will try and find a source for Male and Female schedules on RTÉ 1 and 2 between 7 and 9. IrishTV (talk) 12:02, 12 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
I would hope so. —  Cargoking  talk  14:10, 12 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Availability edit

I've fixed the text in the "Availability" section as previously it was misleading. Since Northern Ireland (which can receive RTE television via cable and satellite and in most parts via terrestrial overspill) is a part of the United Kingdom, the sub-section titled "United Kingdom" has been renamed to "Great Britain" (which encompasses England, Scotland and Wales). Additionally, the link to Sky Digital in the Northern Ireland sub-section has been renamed from "Sky Ireland" to "Sky Digital" as Sky Ireland does not operate in Northern Ireland. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.27.106.173 (talk) 18:50, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
