I invite Rjcorman to discuss their concerns here. 331dot (talk) 17:08, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

There are several pieces of INCORRECT information displayed on this page. The company owns and operates short lines, as well as several other railroad services companies. I have tried repeatedly to update and correct the information such as: correct company president, correct list of actively operating companies, corrected list of services provided, updated and corrected company history. All of this CORRECT information can be found on the company's website, [1] Trolling updated posts, without even checking to see if the information you're reverting is correct is both rude and unnecessary user:331dot. Please stop reverting my updates, as none of them are incorrect or doing anything but accurately representing the services provided by the company. Rjcorman (talk) 17:12, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Have you reviewed the conflict of interest policy yet, to know why your changes are being reverted? 331dot (talk) 17:14, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
You have also blatantly advertised in what you are attempting to post (the paragraph ending with " Feel free to visit www.kydinnertrain.com to book an excursion today!"); which is not permitted. 331dot (talk) 17:15, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

I was unaware of such a policy about advertising and apologize for simply copying and pasting a phrase from the website. However, if you could please review the information and revert it back to what is correct - that would be appreciated. You are not "verifying" that the information you're undoing is wrong. You are simply wasting time by arguing, so go and review the company website and revert the changes back to what they should be. Rjcorman (talk) 17:29, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you have copied the information from your company's website, that is a copyright violation(even if you work for the company) as materials copied to Wikipedia must be given an appropriate license. There is a way to do that, if you wish to know it.
No one has said the information is not correct, but you should not be the one to add it to the page- and primary sources are not usually accepted as independent reliable sources. 331dot (talk) 17:31, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Well, I would ask you to point me in the correct direction of how to "appropriately add the copied information" but you continue to insist that I have no grounds to edit the page. SO I'm not sure how you see that as a solution. So please advise, what would you like for me to do to satisfy you, so I can update this page? Rjcorman (talk) 17:39, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Information on donating materials can be found on this page, if you have the authority to grant copyright as the actual owner of the materials. Instead of going through the rigamarole to do that, it would be better to write a summary of what your company does which can then cite the company's website as a reference. I invite you to draft such a summary below.
You have also stated that certain information is incorrect, please state specifically below which information is incorrect. 331dot (talk) 17:52, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

This is exactly what I'm trying to update: for the "services" section. This is exactly what the previous format was, I just added and updated the services information.

Most of this seems to be already described in the article. How exactly is the current description incorrect? Most of what you post above is written in a promotional manner; Wikipedia is not for promoting your company's services. Again, I invite you to draft a summary of what your company does that isn't written in a promotional manner, if the current description is incorrect. Feel free to look at pages of other companies(like Microsoft, or even BNSF if you want a railroad company) to get an idea of how this is done. In my opinion the above is far too promotional to add to this page. 331dot (talk) 18:12, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

How are these services described in the article? None of them are given any sort of descriptors at all. I have removed all promotional verbiage and simply described what each company does and told where they are located. Just as BNSF has on their page. We do not want a "summary" as each of these companies operates independently as their own entity under the R. J. Corman Railroad Group Holding Company. I'm also fairly positive that Wikipedia isn't seeking your opinion, just verified facts. Isn't that correct? [not truth] Pkmathis (talk) 18:39, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Since you have readded the text, I have now started a discussion at the edit warring noticeboard(now linked to from your user talk page) as you may be in breach of the three revert rule, aside from the COI issues with you editing the page. Since further comment would only be me restating what I have already said, it's not likely I will contribute further here, and I cannot revert your changes again as I would be in breach of 3RR. So further discussion, if needed, can take place at the edit warring board. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 18:43, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
