Desinence? edit
Isn't a "desinence" always an ending, suffix, or terminator?
Homeland edit
Shouldnt the homeland of indo-European be ukraine since Sredny stog culture was the oldest indo-European culture and they origanated firmly in ukraine? H20346 (talk) 05:59, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
- The hypothesized historical homeland for the Proto-Indo-Europeans transcends today's national borders, mostly being parts of eastern Ukraine, southern Russia, and the north Caucasus. At present there is no definitive answer to what culture spoke Proto-Indo-European. JungleEntity (talk) 17:05, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
New Article on both the Age and Homeland of Proto Indo European edit
I'll just leave the link for this article here for discussion. It's a peer review paper published this week (with input by about 80 linguists) that proposes a new homeland hypothesis, and pushes the age of PIE back to about 8100 years.https://phys.org/news/2023-07-insights-indo-european-languages.html 177.128.9.103 (talk) 12:57, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

"full grade" and "zero grade" are undefined edit
These terms appear multiple times in the article, but are never defined or explained. Can we we have definitions / explanations? Omc (talk) 23:15, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
- These are general Indo-European linguistics terms regarding vowel ablaut, and are explained in more detail at Indo-European Ablaut. Regardless, there are examples for each term under the accent sub-section in phonology. Full grade is referred to as normal grade in this section, which isn't consistent. I'll swap those words but I don't think this article needs a full on explanation of IE vowel ablaut. JungleEntity (talk) 23:50, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
