I believe it is against God.

I thought it was the singer portraying god and his cruelty through the song.

It's a "modern day depiction of the biblical story of Job," as explained by the lead singer in the extended version of the music video for the song. Lyrics

Just to clarify, it is in fact "Burn me alive, inside"... First of all, that is a lot more logical than "Burn me a light inside". Second, that is what it says in the CD booklet (I know they are not always correct but they get the phrases right). Lastly, when I listen to the song, that is what I hear... when you have a certain phrase in your mind, that is what you will hear. Dan 00:34, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
