Identity edit

That photo to the right is actually a 910. . .

In my opinion it is neither 908 nor 910, but probably a 906. Look at the Photo of Car Number 64, that is a 908. Spurzem 09:47, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry! You are right, it is a Porsche 910. Spurzem 20:19, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Racing car template edit

I've had a stab at a template for racing cars (see template:Racing car) to summarise the usual data. I've used the F1 templates as a starting point and applied it to the Brabham BT46 article. If anyone's got an interest in this, please have a look at the template and modify or suggest changes as appropriate. After a few people have had a go at it and we have something we're happy with we could start to use it more widely. Note that it's not meant to be specific to F1, by the way. Cheers. 4u1e 10:02, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

To explain myself a little further, the existing templates don't seem quite right for single seaters, which is where I'm coming from. I'm not wedded to my particular idea though, so if you think something can be adapted from the summary box you have here, that's good too! 4u1e 10:04, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

External Links edit

I notice an editor has removed external links on the basis that they don't meet the guidelines of WP:EL. I've taken a quick look at these and found that three of those links didn't seem to add anything useful (others might disagree). However one link did seem to contain a great deal of "meaningful, relevant content", but "due to copyright issues"(photos) and "amount of detail" it would be difficult for that content to be reasonably "integrated into the Wikipedia article":

Plus the page is free of advertising and contains a great deal of detail on individual cars entered in particular races. However I would be cautious about using that page as a source - at least certainly not the only source for the article - for example, statements about Ferdinand Piech in that page, would not meet the standards of WP:BLP.

So I'm going to restore that link. However, what this article really needs is footnotes supporting the facts presented and listing sources in a references section. --Xagent86 (Talk | contribs) 22:09, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Porsche 908.3 turbo of 1980 edit

I think you'll find that while Porsche never offered the 936 for sale to privateers officially, the Porsche 908.3 turbo was in fact a 936 in 908 suit. It was in fact not even close to the original 908 design and the frame was identical to the 936 (although with a 908 chassis plate which may have been retrospectively fitted to a spare 936 frame)...... I suggest removal of the 908.3 turbo 1980 from this article to the 936 article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.229.54.230 (talk) 16:05, 31 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
