Plagiarism edit

In a recent edit I modified one phrase which was an inappropriately long direct quote from a source. It is possible that other such cases remain in the article. Ar2332 (talk) 19:10, 3 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

On a matter of logic and standard English usage, a 'phrase' by definition cannot be a 'long direct quote'. You should clarify what you mean by plagiarism in wiki terms. I.e. produce the 'plagiarism' and quote under it the source plagiarized. This is a very serious matter.Nishidani (talk) 19:29, 3 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
The quote in question was from Encyclopedia Judaica, rephrased in this edit. I currently do not have Encyclopedia Judaica with me to check exactly how much Wikipedia text was identical to Encyclopedia Judaica, but in my judgment it went beyond any reasonable form of "fair use".
