Machine translation, sigh. I checked Spanish Wikipedia (from which this article was taken as a direct translation) and found that he worked in a "saladero", which Google Translate tells me is a "manufacturing facility designed to produce salted and dried meat". As for "provincialization", I think that refers to La Pampa's transition from being a territory to being a province. "Propellant" is probably supposed to be "proponent", but I wouldn't swear to that.
