Unique user
If a person visits a page more than once in a day their view will count twice or only once?

Page view → Pageview – The article's lead sentence states that "pageview" is the more common term (WP:COMMONNAME). Google returns 20.6 million exact-phrase results for "pageview" and 11.4 million for "page view". - Strong oppose - Unless you can link to the page for "pageview" in a couple of the major online dictionaries (I had never heard of Collins until just now). It's not in Merriam-Webster. Wikipedia follows language changes rather than drive them, and the dictionary, not Google Search's "hit counts" (which are not actual hit counts anyway but just mathematically derived estimates that are known to be often WILDLY inaccurate), is the ultimate arbiter of vocabulary. Their business is researching and documenting common English usage. COMMONNAME is about whether the guy is more commonly known as Robert or Bob, and the dictionary is no help there. And the thing in the article's lead sentence is unsourced and thus violates WP:NOR, and in a perfect Wikipedia would have been removed long ago for that reason. ―Mandruss ☎ 05:56, 17 September 2018 (UTC)

In my view two out of five does not constitute wide enough acceptance for use by Wikipedia. I would accept four of those five. ―Mandruss ☎ 09:08, 17 September 2018 (UTC) - Comment — @Newslinger, fwiw, expanding the google search to plurals <"page view" OR "page views"> vs <"pageview" OR "pageviews"> yields Google: 26.4 M vs 85.9 M. But Bing shows in the opposite direction: 19.6 M vs 11.6 M; as does Yahoo 19.6 M vs 11.5 M.
- Would you be comfortable in postponing this change until the case for the compound was more definitive? I'd go along with the change at that point despite my preference for the two-word form in Histlegend's 'External tools' (which I favor as it seems less jargony and more readable when paired there with 'Page statistics'.) - Support Per common sense and common name. No doubt it has started as two words but that has changed over time as is natural with all compound words.
