Habitats of the Ovambo sparrowhawk edit

Recently, I came across the Ovambo sparrowhawk in Plateau state Nigeria. After enquiring from the people that are resident there, I was told that the bird is known and that it usually attacks chicks and even matured local domestic birds including chickens, doves, pigeons, Guinea fowls and even some smaller wild birds. The people eat the bird as a wild game commonly termed "Bush-meat" . The article about this bird suggests that the bird is a nomadic visitor in West Africa. From my findings, I think it is also native to Plateau state in Nigeria owing to the fact that it is generally known especially in the rural areas, villages and suburbs and it is sighted frequently occasionally stooping down to pick domestic birds. It is also seen all year round. Martinsbane (talk) 08:41, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
