The article states that The Omni was demolished to make way for the Philips Arena, but does not detail why the Omni was inadequate to continue serving as the city's sports arena. It would be informative to know the reasons for this. Robertknyc 17:10, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Omnicoliseum.gif edit

Image:Omnicoliseum.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Other concerts held at the arena included shows by Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Rod Stewart, Dwight Yoakam, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, and several others. Parts of Def Leppard's live home video "In The Round, In Your Face" were filmed at the Omni in October 1988.

I'd just like to add that the never released (but online available) Pink Floyd Concert Movie from 1987 has been recorded here.

At least the official Video to "On the turning away" comes from that recording. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.246.7.154 (talk) 18:35, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chronology edit

"built the basketball-specific scoreboard in the early 1980s to replace the original hockey-specific scoreboard that Daktronics maintained during the 1990s." There seems to be some sort of temporal confusion here. --User:Khajidha (talk) (contributions) 17:45, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Metallica edit

Not only were the biggest, baddest band, Metallica, at the Omni close to a dozen times, but they demolished the stage, on April 23,1997, having the last music concert. The fact that they're never mentioned in this article, seems obviously vendictive, for someone. That last show again, was April 23,1997. It's really ridiculous, that Metallica isn't even MENTIONED, forget that the last show at the Omni, isn't mentioned. Smh. Laddiega (talk) 17:25, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
