Article with Flemish point of view
editThis article is written from a Flemish nationalist point of view, and should be considerably amended.Giordaano (talk) 20:47, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
I disagree, this article is spot-on regarding Mr. Maingain's political views and possible racist views on Flemish speaking people. Wikipedia is all about giving the correct information, and writing that Mr. Maingain tends to use racist terms towards a group of Belgium's population, is not a Flemish nationalist point of view, it's the truth. If anybody writes an article about the KK-Klan, it should say that these people are racists, you don't go describing and elaborating on there point of view, because it's an illegal and inhuman point of view. Enough said, the cited examples of his attitude should be clear to everybody. Therefore, no changes to the article, please, as the content is correct and justified.--Rolandv (talk) 09:39, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

2009 poll of "the best mayor"
editI removed the whole paragraph after checking the original articles, e.g. the Belga dispatch: the sentence is "Bourgmestre de Woluwe Saint-Lambert, Olivier Maingain reçoit la cote de 7,5/10 de la part de l'opposition au Conseil communal composée notamment d'élus CD&V et Vld.". Actually, the 2006 officiel electoral results don't show any CD&V or VLD councillors, they were elected on local bilingual lists composed of several political parties. There was a councillor, Xavier Lienard, formerly of CD&V, who later (2012-) became an alderman under Maingain, plus two "true" CD&V councillors, Georges De Smul and Lieve Lippens, as well as one VLD, Stefan Ector, elected on the opposition coalition ("Cap Woluwe"). It makes 4 Flemish councillors out of 17 opposition councillors in a council of 35... What a "poll", indeed ! Minorities observer (talk) 11:31, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
