RE: Sweepea and Olive
editSweepea was actually a foundling left on POPEYE'S door when his real mother couldn't afford to keep him. In later animated films, Sweepea lives with Olive, probably to free up Popeye from his responsibility as a parent, besides which, the morals of the time would have thought a bachelor sailor would look "bad" having a baby without a wife. Originally, Sweepea's name was Christopher Columbus ( Really, im NOT kidding {Named after another famous sailor} ) but since Popeye always refered to him as " my little Swee'pea ", eventually THAT name stuck!
Well...you might not be kidding, but you are somewhat wrong. Swee'pea's name is "Scooner Seawell Georgia Washenting Christiffer Columbia Daniel Boom." MightyAtom (talk) 20:54, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Marriage of Popeye and Olive
editA few years back in order to celebrate an anniversary, a special one-shot comic was produced featuring the marriage of Popeye and Olive Oyl. Is this not considered "canon" in the strip? I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned. ChrisStansfield 23:14, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Sweet Oyl
editI notice a character named Sweet Oyl appears in the current strip= what is her relationship to Olive? ChrisStansfield 23:15, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Misspelled Movie Title
editI believe the correct movie title is The Anvil Chorus Girl rather than The Anvil Courus Girl, isn't it? Leapingwoman (talk) 06:13, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

editThe second link connects to a site selling anabolic steroids. I'd remove it myself, but I'm not sure how to remove links. Mike L Smith (talk) 18:26, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
