NU METAL GENRE
You should probably add Nu metal to the genre list. As the Restoring Force states that their new album is nu metal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.249.201.165 (talk) 18:16, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

Jaxin Hall's departure and vandalism.
Bassist Jaxin Hall announced that he left the band recently. In the news' wake, there has been vandalism on the page. I suggest locking it until the drama dies down. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JustinSxE (talk • contribs) 06:22, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Titling
I was kind of puzzled by something, I understand that the group has the ampersand (&) kind of a signature to their name; but for Wikipedia's standards should the article be titled "Of Mice & Men (band)" or "Of Mice and Men (band)"? Or is the ampersand totally okay? • GunMetal Angel 23:26, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

New Album Re-issue
They released a new album on Jul 23, 2012
the album is titled "The Flood (Deluxe Reissue)" It includes all of the songs from the original "The Flood" plus 4 all new songs. The 4 songs were recorded when Shayley left, and only Austin does the lyrics.

Repetition
The current page states the following:
"On March 2, the band announced via Facebook that Austin Carlile would be taking over on all vocals for Of Mice and Men's third studio album.[27] They have recorded it and it will be released on the 24th of July, featuring the new single 'The Depths' Carlile said in a recent interview with Matthew Colwell of the "Alternate Press" that the release date of the album is still currently unknown, but the band plans on releasing songs prior to Vans Warped Tour. On June 14th, The Depths was revealed, along with a lyric video on the youtube. The band also announced that they will be releasing a reissue of their latest album, The Flood on July 24, 2012. It will contain 2 discs, containing 4 brand new tracks.."
please read this and let me know if I'm going crazy lol
Protection
Somebody protected the page because of vandalism. The only vandalism was changing the song titles to having "Squidgy" in them, and changing the member's names. Which was only when their nicknames were places in parenthesis. They did not fix the 'vandalism' before protecting the article. So now, Alan's nickname is wrong. And that's super irritating. Anyways, the OM&M fan base was only having fun, so I'd let them keep at it. Just a thought. Because it's not like they're changing any legitimate information. And if you're naive enough to believe that "Still Squidgy'n" is a song, or that "Alan Ginger Princess Ashby" is his real name, I feel horrible for you. Just a thought.

Please change the members of the Of Mice & Men (band) page, as it is missing a member. The band added 'Squidgy', a stuffed octopus, as a member of the band. And, while Squidgy doesn't play an instrument, he is still considered by the fans as a member. Below there is a link to a video of Squidgy as a member of the band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHYB1Kyb0gA 98.28.66.102 (talk) 20:22, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Not done: Reliable, secondary or primary sources (such as a press release) sources (not a YouTube clip of a stuffed toy being picked out of a machine) which clearly show that 'Squidgy' is a part of the band need to be presented. Also, before using the

When talking about the departure of Shayley Bourget, I feel it's necessary to mention that his band Dayshell is now signed to Summerian Records. Please add this to the page. Thank you. 76.177.210.211 (talk) 04:15, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Not done: I don't think it's necessary to mention a non-notable record label. -Nathan Johnson (talk) 15:36, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Sumerian is both notable and important. Their roster includes acts like Asking Alexandria, I See Stars, and Periphery, all of which are huge. So it's perfectly reasonable to include this information on the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.149.79.49 (talk • contribs) 05:41, 20 November 2013
- Not done for now: Yes, Sumerian is notable. However, Dayshell doesn't have its own article yet. Dayshell is just a redirect to Sumerian Records. Dayshell is listed on that and on List of Sumerian Records artists, but neither has a citation for this fact. When Dayshell has a proper article (indicating notability) and a reliable source to cite for this fact, we can add it here. --Stfg (talk) 17:59, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Main Article Picture
I feel that the main picture, the one featured at the top of the article, needs to be changed. The picture includes four band members, two or three of which, as it is unclear which guitarist is featured in the image, or no longer in the band. The band has undergone two line-up changes since the taken picture, which is three years old, and no longer represents the band. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.205.162.204 (talk) 01:56, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- I agree, the photo is low quality and doesn't feature all the members. This photo (http://www.flickr.com/photos/alieaesthetic/8454149197/) was taken earlier this year, it features all the members (although the drummer is right on the edge of the photo), is high quality and for what I can see it is a free image. What does everybody else think? I can't find any restrictions of use so should it be used? Another photo by the same photographer is this one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/alieaesthetic/8454150257/in/photostream/). - SilentDan297 talk 16:26, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Infobox genre
Nearly every day I come onto Wikipedia the infobox genre on this article seems to change, mainly the two genres "Metalcore" and "Nu-metal", so I took the time to compile a table of sources for each genre and which album they came from;
Genre | Albums | Other | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
Of Mice & Men | The Flood | Restoring Force | ||
Metalcore | Absolute Punk | AllMusic | Absolute Punk | Loudwire |
Nu-metal | — | AllMusic | Absolute Punk, AllMusic | Altpress |
Post-hardcore | — | AllMusic | Absolute Punk | — |
Unfortunately some of the reviews are from magazines that I cannot view, please expand on the table if you have any more sources backing up what genre. SilentDan (talk) 16:59, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
Lower Definition as an Associated Act
Someone with an account should add Lower D to the Associated Acts list. Tino, the drummer was the drummer for that band before he joined OM&M. That's most likely why they ended up on the squash the beef tour with DGD and Emarosa, Lower D was good friends with those guys, Matt, their singer was featured on DGD's 2nd album in 08 and Jonny Craig was featured on Lower D's album. Anywyas, sick band, they should be in there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.151.206.167 (talk) 05:47, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
Genres
From the commented instruction in the infobox, I am explaining my WP:BOLD genre edit here.
Content in an infobox is to be based on content in the article. This article states in the "musical style" section, based on reliable sources, that the band is metalcore and more recently nu metal, but I don't see alternative metal mentioned anywhere, so I have removed it. I also removed the reference tags from the infobox, they are not necessary.
If some of the band's albums have been reviewed under a different genre, that belongs in the album's article. The band's article should be based on content written about the band. Cheers. Ivanvector (talk) 17:07, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

===Carlile's return with Ashby, and The Flood (2011–2012)===
Leading onto Roush being a part of the band for already nine months, the group confirmed on January 3, 2011 that they reached a decision to have Jerry Roush leave Of Mice & Men in favor for former vocalist and founding member, Austin Carlile to return to the group.[1] Roush posted an extended response to his firing from the band on his Twitter account.[2] Carlile was under an intention for months to start a new musical project, with fellow musician Alan Ashby, until his request to return to the group was made. Carlile and Ashby were then both accepted into Of Mice & Men, with Ashby as an entirely new member. The group then underwent a slight arrangement, as they required a bassist after several substitutions that Dane Poppin, of A Static Lullaby, contributed to.[3] Poppin's needed return to A Static Lullaby after extensive touring with Of Mice & Men had the group move Shayley Bourget from rhythm guitar to bass guitar but remain at clean vocals where Ashby was employed as rhythm guitarist instead of being employed as the needed bassist in the group.[1] Alananthonyashby (talk) 02:34, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
- Done Sentence "Despite Ashby and Carlile's short-lived 'drama' over Ashby exposing Carlile's brief affair with fan [redacted], they remained band mates and close friends." struck from the article. It would have been easier if you'd just said to strike that sentence, which wasn't supported by the following reference. —C.Fred (talk) 09:17, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Lead genre
Of mice and men are a METALCORE Band — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikishreker14 (talk • contribs) 12:36, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Wikishreker14: Like I said, the lead genre needs to be broad. There are more genres in the infobox than metalcore. There's nu metal, alternative metal, post-harcore, and hard rock. These are all rock genres in some way therefore rock should be the lead genre. This is the case for most band's articles on Wikipedia. Bowling is life (talk) 13:01, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
Fair enough, I was just thinking that they would be classed as Metalcore because their latest album was. Wikishreker14 (talk) 15:46, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
- Can you stop please? Cause user Bowling is life already explained this.--Tobi999tomas (talk) 18:08, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
Changing it to "metal" would be the most accurate imo. 188.192.201.228 (talk) 19:43, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
- @188.192.201.228: I see what you mean, but the lead genre should be a broad descriptor of the band's sound. Here are some examples of similar metalcore bands that have rock as the lead genre: Bring Me the Horizon, Asking Alexandria, A Day to Remember, Escape the Fate, and Falling in Reverse. I sort of agree that metal is a little more accurate but we have metalcore, nu metal, alternative metal, post-harcore, and hard rock in the infobox. These are all rock genres in one way or another as metal is rock genre. We also have hard rock listed and metal wouldn't cover that. We also definitely shouldn't include metalcore as the lead genre because that is way to specific. Tagging @Tobi999tomas: Bowling is life (talk) 20:03, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
- i would be fine with rock too, metalcore just has to be replaced, as that one, like you said, is too specific 188.192.201.228 (talk) 20:22, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
- @188.192.201.228: Ok I'll change it back to rock as long others are ok with that or if no one else responds. Bowling is life (talk) 22:05, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
