Variety?
editI checked on IPNI, but no variety or subspecific rank below N. lotus that matched this name was listed there. Does anyone have an idea if this is synonymous with something else, a cultivar, or something else? Rkitko (talk) 01:22, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
It is not a cultivar, it's been there since Europe was a much warmer place, before glaciations. It has been protected by the thermal waters. It is not well known outside Romania. You can find some pictures by googling the name. 67.81.182.37 (talk) 01:53, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Moving page to Nymphaea lotus var. thermalis
editI have moved the article Nymphaea lotus f. thermalis to the page Nymphaea lotus var. thermalis, because there was no entry for "Nymphaea lotus f. thermalis" in the International Plant Names Index. Therefore it seems to me, that "Nymphaea lotus f. thermalis" was never published. There is however an entry for Nymphaea lotus var. thermalis (DC.) Tuzson from 1907.[1] This is an accepted variety according to Plants of the World Online of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.[2] Therefore I believe the page move is justified and necessary to reflect the validly published name of this taxon. But if I have wrongly moved the page, then please feel free to correct me. Conan Wolff (talk) 09:02, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
