Fair use rationale for Image:Lincoln City F.C. badge.png edit

Image:Lincoln City F.C. badge.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Should it be renamed to Lincoln Ladies F.C. as per the text and the official web site? Keith D (talk) 21:28, 8 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Rename Again edit

Another rename of the page may be in order in a little while. It seems that with the re-organisation of the WSL for the 2014 season, Lincoln Ladies will again be changing their name - Just to confuse us they will be known Notts County Ladies FC. The name is the only detail at the moment, but it would seem to imply that they're planning on moving away/switching allegiance from Lincoln/Lincoln FC/Sincil Bank to Nottingham/Notts County FC/Meadow Lane.86.177.96.173 (talk) 06:30, 27 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yes, at the behest of mutual owner Ray Trew it would seem. Thing is, if they are moving lock, stock and barrel to Nottingham then it's not just a "name change" as they claim on their website. It's surely more of an MK Dons situation, so it might be better to start a new page? Clavdia chauchat (talk) 07:45, 27 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: Page moved. No opposition and the request seems to be valid and uncontroversial. (non-admin closure)  — Amakuru (talk) 23:45, 2 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Lincoln Ladies F.C.Notts County L.F.C. – Much coverage seems to portray Lincoln's recent move to Nottingham as a "rebranding" of the same football club, rather than the end of one club and the start of another. The ownership remains the same and the club has not been liquidated or wound up. Precedent in English women's football seems to support a one article approach (Bromley Borough > Croydon > Charlton Athletic and District Line > Wembley > Barnet > London Bees). On that basis I'm suggesting this move. The alternative is to create a new article for Notts County L.F.C. and leave the Lincoln one where it is. • Comment I'd support the move, if there is really no more Lincoln Ladies FC. So question, did all youth teams also move over? Doubt all U15 player's parents will drive 30 more miles. -Koppapa (talk) 21:13, 22 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Not sure what is happening to the youth teams, to be honest. The "Centre of Excellence" licence was held by the Lincs FA. Notts County already had a women's club with youth teams etc who fell into line under the new team from Lincoln and are now called Notts County Development. There was some chat about a new team forming in Lincoln to fill the void, but it doesn't seem to have got off the ground. Clavdia chauchat (talk) 21:56, 22 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - I presume this is similar to the movement of franchises in North America? There has always been precedent for them that we have one article on the same club/franchise. The only exception to this is Milton Keynes Dons F.C./Wimbledon F.C. - but that is a one-off. GiantSnowman 11:17, 24 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Tidy page edit

I have modified or removed sections to make article more relevant to Notts ladies than Lincoln ladies without removing the history of the Lincoln club. --palmiped |  Talk  14:33, 1 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

But you have removed lots of the history of the Lincoln club. The consensus at the requested move above is in favour of one article covering both clubs. That doesn't mean extirpate everything about Lincoln because "it is now about Notts". If you want to do that you'll have to seek consensus for a separate Lincoln Ladies article. 5.67.211.87 (talk) 09:19, 12 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Clarification edit

Described [3] as the first ladies club to play a season at a professional Football League ground. Wimbledon played two seasons at Plough Lane in 1991/92 and 1992/93 (the first two seasons of the Women's National League), although the men's team were by then playing at Selhurst Park. 212.187.244.82 (talk) 05:32, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
