The project is unviable edit

The Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy has said the project is "unviable" and it looks like Tottenham won't be going through with it. http://www.tottenhamjournal.co.uk/news/spurs_olympic_stadium_challenge_will_only_line_pockets_of_lawyers_says_mp_1_845696?ot=archant.PrintFriendlyPageLayout.ot —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.135.64.218 (talk) 20:11, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Up to date developments edit

Twitter feed "New Spurs Stadium" regularly posts updates on the development along with photos. Could we use/upload most recent photo of development on to page? [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.177.51.27 (talk) 12:54, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Keep project article and stadium article separate edit

Please note that Northumberland Development Project is a larger project than the just the stadium, involving as it does the building of the stadium as well housing, hotel, retail spaces and other developments. The project would continue for a few more years after the stadium has been completed and should be kept separate from any new article on the stadium. Anyone interested can start writing on the stadium as a separate article Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (the name can be changed once naming rights have been confirmed, although any new name can just be a redirect, and that can be discussed later).

This current article needs updating and rewriting, as it is missing a few elements and there is an unnecessary section on Olympic Stadium which is not directly relevant to the project - it can be reduced to a small paragraph on the history on the development of the project. I've had the same thoughts on the subject, I did open up a discussion on the football project page about this. I might start something in my userspace. Govvy (talk) 11:49, 28 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Excellent. I'll start reworking the Northumberland Development Project article in a week or two, and the Olympic Stadium section will be deleted. Anyone who objects please let me know first. Hzh (talk) 11:12, 1 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

Could we have overhead images show the differences in the stadium development i.e 1) White Hart Lane before development started 2) the new stadium bowl around an existing WHL stadium and 3) New stadium bowl after WHL was demolished as a comparison? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.138.48.122 (talk) 13:24, 28 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

There maybe some images on common's but before and after sounds more for a blog than wikipedia. Govvy (talk) 14:49, 28 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
I don't see a problem with a before and after image in this case, as it would illustrate the relationship between the old and new stadiums (e.g. location, size), as well as the overall scale of the development that would be informative visually. However, for a clear comparison you would need the three images to be taken from roughly the same vantage point, and there are no such comparable images. Someone would need to donate such images they have taken from the air. The development also isn't finished yet, so no final image would be available for a while. Rewriting edit

I have started rewriting and reorganising the article, and it may take some time to finish. Anyone interested are welcome to contribute. Hzh (talk) 16:33, 16 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Notes edit

Citations shouldn't be in the lead. Govvy (talk) 18:44, 2 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

That depends. If the material is cited in the main body and summarised in the lead, it doesn't need a citation in the latter, but in other circumstances it can be appropriate. See MOS:LEADCITE. Cordless Larry (talk) 18:48, 2 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
hmm, I thought you were not suppose to have citations in lead like on here, Govvy (talk) 18:51, 2 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

little map in infobox edit

I think it should be the whole of London, showing where Tottenham is, it seems a bit pointless to the general reader and they might not understand that part of London especially when they are living in another part of the world. Govvy (talk) 13:03, 6 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I've changed the map type to use the London map rather than the default global interactive map. The alternative is to keep the interactive map and change the zoom level (see the article history for this version).   Jts1882 | talk  14:08, 6 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
