Intro sentence re: location
edit@TomG2002: Re: this diff: The previous version of the sentence explained that the bridge spans Cambridge and Boston. Your change suggests to readers the bridge is in Boston, then later mentions Cambridge. Can you explain why you prefer the latter wording, or revert? ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:00, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
- The Bridge is located wholly within Boston to my knowledge, between North Point Park (which is partially in Boston anyways) and Paul Revere Park.
TomG2002 (talk) 13:55, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Ahecht and Beland: Do you two agree? Note: This discussion is related to Talk:North Point Park (Cambridge, Massachusetts). I guess I'm wondering if mention of Cambridge (as well as the Cambridge category) should be removed. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:14, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- TomG2002, Another editor disagrees with you here. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:31, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Due to border weirdness around the Millers River (part of Cambridge is an exclave on the other side of the river), the official Cambridge city maps show the bridge entirely within Cambridge. The west end of the bridge is well within Cambridge. -- Beland (talk) 23:44, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hmm, I apologize for beating a dead horse here, but while it is true that Cambridge has a small enclave north of Miller River, the North Bank Bridge appears to start the formal approach (continuous handrails and elevation rise begin) under the Zakim Bridge (here's a street view from Google Maps)
- North Bank Bridge - Google Maps
- Meanwhile according to the Massachusetts Interactive Property Map viewer, the Middlesex (Cambridge) / Suffolk (Boston) border appears to start BEFORE the Zakim Bridge. For example, the Warren Ave, Boston parcel, recorded in Suffolk County Registry of Deeds Book 14314 Page 258, owned by Massachusetts, appears to contain some of the North Bank Bridge portion before the Zakim Bridge. (You can see this at Massachusetts Interactive Property Map (arcgis.com), use the MassGIS Image Basemap, zoom in to the Zakim/North Bank Bridge intersection, and clicking the parcel to the left of the Zakim, over the North Bank Bridge)
- I don't have the Cambridge city maps to compare my search with, but I'm thinking a small part of the start of the North Bank Bridge is in fact in Boston? Rocketwidget (talk) 17:55, 11 October 2023 (UTC)

Proposed change
editI propose changing "a bridge in Boston, Massachusetts connecting the North Point Park in Cambridge and Paul Revere Park in Charlestown" to "a bridge in Greater Boston, connecting the North Point Park (which spans Boston and Cambridge) and Paul Revere Park in Charlestown". @Ahecht, Beland, and TomG2002: Thoughts? ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:54, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Another Believer: That's completely wrong. @TomG2002: Look at the map again (either Google Maps or OpenStreetMaps). The bridge is entirely within Cambridge. It leaves from the northeast corner of North Point Park, which is part of the 2/3 of that park that is in Cambridge, and it makes landfall just shy of the border between Cambridge and Charlestown, Boston. North Point Park spans Boston's West End and Cambridge, while the bridge connects the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston with Cambridge. --Ahecht (TALK
PAGE) 19:00, 18 December 2019 (UTC)- Ahecht, Hmm, ok. This source says, "Governor Deval Patrick today celebrated the completion of the North Bank pedestrian bridge, connecting Paul Revere Park in Charlestown to Cambridge's North Point Park." I'm too confused, but I would like to see this sorted out. I hope we can decide what changes need to be made to both the North Bank Bridge and North Point Park (Cambridge, Massachusetts) articles to make both more accurate. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:04, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- The bridge connects the two parks in the two cities by spanning the railroad and river, but it doesn't actually cross the border between the cities (it connects to a path that crosses the border). --Ahecht (TALK
PAGE) 19:07, 18 December 2019 (UTC)- Ahecht, Thanks. Can you propose a specific wording update, so we can see if we can all come to an agreement here? ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:08, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
The North Bank Bridge (sometimes North Bank Pedestrian Bridge) is a bridge in Cambridge, Massachusetts connecting the North Point Park in Cambridge and Paul Revere Park in Charlestown.
--Ahecht (TALK
PAGE) 19:09, 18 December 2019 (UTC)- Ahecht, To me, this suggests the bridge itself extends into Charlestown/Boston, but I will let other editors weigh in. I might suggest changing to "connecting the North Point Park to nearby Paul Revere Park" or something similar. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:18, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Note: This change was made since this discussion was started. ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:10, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- I made another edit that explains the route of the bridge and border issues in great detail, since there's not all that much to say about the bridge anyway. (Though certainly the history of it would be interesting, since it was delayed for quite a while, Big Dig mitigation measure and all that.) -- Beland (talk) 23:47, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Beland, Much improved! Thank you. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:30, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
I've removed the "Bridges in Boston" and "Charlestown" categories. I believe they've been deemed non-applicable. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:58, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
Recent change to intro
edit@Ahecht and Beland: Do you agree with this change to the intro? ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:53, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Sure, by my reading it accurately summarizes the details in the next section. -- Beland (talk) 23:13, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Beland, Great, thanks. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:24, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Beland: The changed portion is fine, but the sentence is a bit of a run-on. I would either remove the
on the northern side of the Charles River
part entirely, or change it toThe North Bank Bridge (sometimes North Bank Pedestrian Bridge) is a pedestrian and bicycle path bridge on the northern side of the Charles River in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It connects the Cambridge portion of North Point Park with Paul Revere Park in nearby Charlestown.
--Ahecht (TALK
