Untitled edit
Are you sure that she is on the Climate Change Review Committee and Deputy Chair of the Environmental Select Committee? She clearly isn't qualified for either of these positions. Reference please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.188.14.114 (talk) 11:37, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
Regional councillor and MP? edit
Surely she can't still be a member of the Regional Council if she is a Member of Parliament now, can she? This paragraph appears to be left over from the first version of this article, when Nicky wasn't a MP yet. A phrase with the word "currently" is not suitable for an encyclopedia in the first place, because it automatically outdates. Instead, it should say something "As of October 2004" (or whatever date is appropriate).
Can someone with an understanding of the regulations, titles and politics please updated this article? --Yogi de 08:50, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Requested edit edit
An impartial editor has reviewed the proposed edit(s) and asked the editor with a conflict of interest to go ahead and make the suggested changes. |
- Existing (unreferenced) sentence: In 2003 Wagner was elected to the Canterbury Regional Council, and was a councillor until 2007.
- Proposed replacement: Environment Canterbury (ECan) councillor Peter Yeoman died in October 2002. The resulting by-election was held over when councillor Neil Cherry resigned shortly after over health concerns. Wagner and Alec Neill won the April 2003 by-election held in the Christchurch West constituency.[1][2][3] There was concern whether Wagner could do justice to both being a regional councillor and a member of parliament when she received a high list ranking for the 2005 general election.[4] Wagner retired from ECan at the 2007 local elections.[5][6]
- Reason for the change: I've just added elected members to the Environment Canterbury article and that provides references that can improve the current content. The existing brief, unreferenced sentence could be replaced with something that gives context; some references are mere headlines but there is little online from the early 2000s covering Christchurch; the proposed change also addresses the December 2006 talk page query above.
