• I'm not sure I support moving the article just yet. This article was never titled Association of Independent Institutions, and so far this seems more like a rebranding of a group of independents. It's worth noting that NAIA qualification plans currently refer to this as Continental Athletic Conference (Independents). All NAIA independents have automatically been members of the AII, and if that remains the case under the new name, I think the current article title would still be accurate. pʰeːnuːmuː →‎ pʰiːnyːmyː → ‎ɸinimi → ‎fiɲimi 14:57, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
• Oppose. Premature at best, and appears to be a change of article topic as well. The current article does not make the relationship between the new name and two pre-exiting topics clear at all. Perhaps create (referenced) sections for CAC and AII in the existing article, including a history of each, and then see whether the article should be split or rescoped? • They don't seem to be in a hurry to complete their "rebranding process" – see Association of Independent Institutions and generally Wikipedia editors favor not being in more of a hurry than the organization itself. Curious that some individual member institutions seem to be leading the way. I guess that's why they're independents. Members act independently LOL – wbm1058 (talk) 01:34, 5 August 2021 (UTC)

Two types of independent member schools in the NAIA

I'm wondering if there are two types of independent member schools in the NAIA; which one of those represent schools that don't belong to any athletic conference in said organization, while the other one represents member schools who had joined the Association of Independent Institutions (or the AII), which has rebranded as the Continental Athletic Conference. Because I was wondering if we could add the years that school "joined" and "left" during its independent status as an NAIA school. So you're saying that every NAIA Independent was part of the AII/CAC since even BEFORE the 2008-09 season (when the AII was founded)? How is that fair and OK? jlog3000 (talk) 05:19, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
