can the editers please sort out the issue of the "infobox network" on MuchMusic page?

Shouldn't there be something in this article to reference the history of muchmusic as a pay tv serivce then becoming an analogue cable service...?

I noticed on the past shows and VJ's list that there are some shows and VJ's listed. For instance, Pop-Up Video to my knowledge has never been on Much Music. It was on Much More Music and Bill Welychka to my knowledge has never been on Much Music. Bill is currently on Much More Music. Mr. C.C. 07:15, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

they're doing a rock school 2... so technically, it's not one of the past shows.

CORRECTION: Bill Welychka had a long-running Muchmusic show called Outlaws and Heroes. It was really good. Much was pretty good at first, playing a bit of everything. But thanks to Moses Znaimer's lack of creativity, it never went 24hrs a day, and just ran an 8-hour shift starting at noon that was repeated twice more every day. Ergo, there was room for all kinds of music, and eventually Much became a lousy all-pop thing, JUST LIKE MTV. I mean, who pays for or even watches Much Loud, or Much Vibe?

Why couldn't they have a cool late night guy playing jazz at 3 AM?

Ah, don't mind me...it all sucks now...don't watch TV.

Bell Globemedia takeover

With CHUM being taken over by Bell Globemedia, what will happen between MuchMusic and MTV? I think that MTV might be the new name of MuchMusic, with MTV2 being the present MTV. Will that be likely? No, but it sounds logical to my stance.

Makes a lot of sence it would be sort of sad to see it go but the cheesy programming on Much makes me wanta see it die. MuchMusics Specailty channels Like Much Vibe and Much Loud could be changed into MTV Jams and MTV X like in the U.S. MuchMoreMusic could become VH1 and MuchMoreRetro could be VH1 Classics. So it wouldnt be too hard to imagine Much being changed into MTV like in the U.S.

Personalities/VJs

To better seperate to readers which "personalities" were and are actual VJ's on MuchMusic such as Matte Bable and which were and are just personalities such as Matt Wells, I think puttign the words VJ next to their name would be a good marking to know that those were actual VJs and then add a note saying Those marker with VJ were a VJ and those with no marking were personalities.

• Leah Miller (VJ)
• Nardwuar the Human Serviette

Moses Znaimer was the executive producer for everything until he left. He copied tons of things from MTV: Running old sitcoms, cartoons, game shows, reality shows, rock the vote, and stealing "MTV Unplugged" and calling it "Intimate and Interactive." It's all true, but whenever I add it, somebody takes it down the next day. Why? Wassamatter, CHUM, still trying to sell us all that Moses is a genius?

Right from the beginning, executive producer Moses Znaimer copied extensively from the originator, the USA's MTV, and moved to catch up. MTV was the first to rerun old sitcoms such as The Monkees and The Partridge Family, to run hipster cartoons such as Ren and Stimpy, to produce their own pop culture game show, their own Reality TV shows, to Rock the Vote (which Znaimer copied and renamed "Take Me to Your Leader") and most telling of all, when MTV showed another side of the rock star with the very successful "MTV Unplugged," Moses quickly copied and called his rip-off "Intimate and Interactive," by doing the same idea, but adding a phone-in segment. Even the logo used for the first twelve years of Muchmusic was a big "M," almost exactly like that of MTV. Some argue that Muchmusic was called that so it could technically have an excuse to have a big "M" as their logo, since you really can't trump the name, "Music Television."

Controversy

Recently an editor has taken to expanding the "controversy" section, and essentially it amounts to a complaint campaign that Much does not show much in the way of music programming these days. Many of the sources are blogs, and in some cases original research. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a forum for airing of grievances. Much of that section needs to be culled and trimmed, and better sourcing should be sought out. Echoedmyron (talk) 21:29, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Name Change

MuchMusic globe logo

This logo is notable and should have stayed on the Much page. (Either "MuchMusic" or "Much" is written on the logo.) The same goes for MuchMusic, which is also missing the globe logo. Can we restore the logo? --LABcrabs (talk) 18:31, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

About MuchMusic Latin America

Under Affiliated channels/MuchMusic Latin America

Despite what has been said in many news sites, MuchMusic Latin America did NOT stop broadcasting on February 29th, in fact, that day it broadcasted all its programs normally, even after midnight. MuchMusic stopped broadcasting on March 1st, I can attest to that, I saw the exact moment, even someone beat me to it and uploaded it to youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoZjkDcD0iM Although the last video varies depending on the cable operator (mostly because they remove the channel out early) the last video to be broadcasted was "impecable" by Mi Amigo Invisible, in the program Quieren Rock.

lately there is a lot of false information about the closing of Much Latin America, I even saw people saying that they broadcasted a special/marathon or something like that, it is all false.
