royal connections

Just saw this page linked from somewhere else; cruised through it and in the "royal connections" expected to find mention of the various nobleman's ranches that were/are part of Alberta's social landscape; which of the royal dukes was it who hunted from one of their ranches in southern Alberta? Not the Duke of Windsor, someone from that generation; anyway, there's a few of these "royal ranches", which hosted princes and other members of the royal family on private visits, I just don't have any of the specifics in order to add them.Skookum1 17:45, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Queen in Right, or Crown in Right?

The article speaks of Crown in Right, the infobox says Queen in Right. Which is it? Lexicon (talk) 21:59, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

They're essentailly one and the same thing; legal documents refer to both a "Crown in Right of Alberta" and a "Queen in Right of Alberta." I suppose you could say the former is the institution (Queen, Lieutenant Governor, Cabinet, judiciary, police, etc.), whereas the latter is the individual who personally embodies the institution. Perhaps the article needs a section explaining this, or one at Monarchy in the Canadian provinces. --G2bambino 22:06, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Mount Walsh in BC

Just happened to be puttering around in the Northern Rockies listings in BCGNIS, and found "Mount Walsh". BC Geographical Names. = "Name given by Mr. Bedaux, leader of the Bedaux Expedition 1934, in honour of the Honourable W.L. Walsh, Lieutenant-Governor of Alberta." (Frank Swannell, 27 May 1935)" Didn't know where to fit it into the article but thought it was worth dropping this information here for someone to use.Skookum1 (talk) 22:25, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
