Suggestion edit

It would be good if native speakers of the different languages used in this song could identify and mark those sections, and also provide a translation. Achitnis 17:21, 4 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Kiranc, for adding the language labels. Now, when one looks at the song, the "unity in diversity" of the song really hits you!
I have taken the liberty of using the full language names instead of the wiki language tags, for better readability.
What we need now is translations. Also a section on some of the people that appear in the video, preferably against the song part where they are picturised. Achitnis 21:15, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Can someone provide the names of singers?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.173.210.210 (talk) 06:36, 22 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sources edit

This article needs reliable sources. A Youtube source is not reliable. Corvus cornix 04:50, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Will 13,000+ references on Google be a good start? Achitnis 16:01, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not if they're not reliable. Corvus cornix 18:05, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
That's not what I meant. What I meant was - a Google search for the name quickly yields lots of sources - someone who cares about the quality of the article should track down the best source (and there are lots of them out there) and add it. To millions of Indians, this song needs no validation, just like the statement "the USA has 50 states" does not need one. Achitnis 06:11, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Then it shouldn't be difficult to pick out those which are reliable. Don't require those who disagree with you to do the work for you. Corvus cornix 05:49, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
In addition, please refrain from removing things alien to you. The song was created by an Indian Government agency, and is therefore in the public domain, complete with its lyrics. I am restoring the article to what it was, and am adding some reliable sources. Achitnis 13:57, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Please provide evidence that Indian government material is public domain. UK government material is not, and the material created by other governments, even those of states within the US, is not public domain. I'll be removing the lyrics again until you provide proof that it is in public domain. Corvus cornix 05:49, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
