Unclear Relationship between Metropolis Digital, Inc. and Metro3D, Inc. and Dead Links for Sources

There are a quite a few web pages that claim Metropolis Digital, Inc., renamed itself as Metro3d on April 27, 1999, but as far as I can tell they all link to this IGN article, which doesn't mention Metropolis Digital at all. Interestingly, a different source refers to bankruptcy proceedings, but the article says that BOTH Metropolis Digital and Metro3D were filing for bankruptcy. Yet another source talks about "Armada" being a game developed my Metropolis Digital. There is a game called "Armada" that was released in 1999 by Metro3D.

So it seems that 1) There was a company named Metropolis Digital that published games until 1999. 2) There was a company named Metro3D that published games starting in 1999. And if the Bizjournals article is to be believed, both companies filed for bankruptcy in 2004 in proceedings related to Stephen C.H. Lin, who owned a 40% stake in both companies. Additionally, I actually don't see any sources that indicate Metropolis Digital was founded in 1998 (a date which doesn't really make sense), and a lot of the sources appear to be dead links to Metro3D's website, most of which I could not find archived. For now I will just put a few "citation needed" tags RampagingCarrot (talk) 02:11, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

Just noticed that the founding date of 1998 uses the now defunct Metro3D website as its source, so presumably that did list a founding of 1998. It still doesn't make sense with the claim that the company used to be Metropolis Digital and became Metro3D in 1999. RampagingCarrot (talk) 02:34, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
