Article in draftspace
editHey Moondragon21 and @Bearcat:, I declined Draft:Melissa Lantsman on August 23, telling Colossus of Mankind to wait until election day. Just as I was about to accept their draft, I noticed this one had beat me to the punch! Guess we'll have to create a redirect from the draft (or wait and let it G13). If you think you can grab anything from the draft article to put in here, that would be great. Bkissin (talk) 15:20, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
Inconsistent wording fix
editOne part of the article says that Lantsman is lesbian, but the Personal life section says that she is gay. If I'm correct, a lesbian is a homosexual woman while the term gay refers to a homosexual person. I've fixed this inconsistent wording. Please don't cancel me on Twitter....
Lead: She is the first openly lesbian and first Jewish woman ever to be elected as a Conservative MP. Upon election of Pierre Poilievre as Conservative Leader, Pierre named Melissa one of two deputy leaders along with Edmonton MP Tim Uppal.
Personal life: Lantsman is openly gay and was married in 2017.

- The sentence is about her status as an MP, so I think it's appropriate to say "She is the first
openlylesbian and first Jewish woman ever to be elected as a Conservative MP." I don't think we really need to include open anywhere, but that's just me. --PerpetuityGrat (talk) 13:37, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
