Incredible article edit

This is quite possibly the best classic video-game article I've ever seen on Wikipedia. I mean, it's just got so much love thrown into it, it's what every video-game entry should aspire to be like. Bravo to those who created this masterpiece.

Thank you very much! :D -- Mr. Sinistar 20:37, 29 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I love this game, but the article needs cleanup. And I need advice on how I can get it to run under Windows XP. --Nerd42 15:06, 22 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, see Wikipedia:Cleanup for information on cleaning up Wikipedia articles. You can submit the article to be worked on by others, but you can always improve things yourself of course. As for running the game under Windows XP, this is not really the appropriate place to talk about it, but try this. (It's just a page on the fan-site linked to in this very article.) I didn't try it myself, but it explains setting up the game with DOSBox. (There's a download link and general DOSBox information in that article.) I hope that helps. Can anyone make a script of all of the FMVs, hmm? -- Guest

Yeah, it can be done. And I know a way to do it without much work...just some quick hacks. I don't know if there's a good place for it in the article though. --Mr. Sinistar 03:47, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I completely agree with the first post. The work you've done on this article is very impressive. Let it be a model to other game articles! Thank you. Reslo79 05:10, 4 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree with Reslo79. It's a truly inspiring article. Loving the work, guys. Keep it up! ColdSteam13 21:05, 25 April 2007 (GMT)

A Class article edit

The author of this article is a genius; hats off to you good sir! I came here for info on one of my fav games and was blown away.

I also took the liberty of re-rating it an A-Class article. There is no way this is a "start" article, that is an underrating by far. I did this out of a feel of consensus shown here. If there is a dissagreement then by all means bring it up.--Hypergeometric2F1(a,b,c,x) (talk) 07:06, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is a Start-class article because there are not a single reference in the whole article. Without them, this article isn't even B-class. Also A-class rating is usually given to articles that have passed GA review. --Mika1h (talk) 16:18, 25 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Censored Line edit

Hello everyone,

I decompressed the "MEGARACE.DAT" file (from the DOS version of the game) to see what was inside and discovered a piece of Lance Boyle's dialogue that was originally censored from the final game. I found this "uncensored line" in the "Megaamer.sub" file. Here is the censored line that you find in the game:

It's because of quitters like him that vicious speed-gangs miss out on a wonderful rehabilitation program! Tune in next time to Mega Race when we'll have a real Enforcer to admire!

And the original line that I found in the "Megaamer.sub" file:

It's because of quitters like him that vicious speed-gangs miss out on a wonderful rehabilitation program developed by New Directions in Meat Incorporated, makers of Bleed, the candy-bar poor folks love to be a part of! Tune in next time to Mega Race when we'll have a real Enforcer to admire!

Now, due to the nature of this piece of dialogue, should I forget about putting it in the triva section for the sake of others? I don't want to offend anyone. And if I did offend anyone already, I'm sorry.

Please help me out! Thanks in advance!--Mr. Sinistar 14:42, 25 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think it would be fine to include it. Wikipedia is not censored, after all. The line is really not that bad anyway. Kinda reminds me of Soylent Green

PrometheusX303 05:58, 26 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Okay, then. I'll put it in the Triva section. Thanks for the help!

Mr. Sinistar 13:46, 26 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Is he talking about getting pounded in the ass in prison or something? I don't get the candy-bar part-- someone care to clarify? 141.123.100.70 13:08, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

No. He's talking about being an ingredient in the candy bar. Hence my reference to Soylent Green. PrometheusX303 14:23, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I know this thread is old, but I gotta add something, Im from Argentina and I have the spanish version of this game (ms-dos) and in the spanish version that dialog is spoken, except that Lance (in spanish "Aldo veloz") says something which is more straightforward: "The chocolate bar which is composed entirely of poor people". I just added it to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rapanui5 (talkcontribs) 02:00, 22 February 2010 (UTC) Rapanui5 (talk) 02:03, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Megarace skyholder-ingame.png edit

Image:Megarace skyholder-ingame.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

What happens when a game is won edit

Great article. Only thing missing is a summary of what happens when the game is won. 71.82.209.86 (talk) 07:52, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
