Page Title / Move edit
It was attempted to change the page's disambiguation from 'politics' to 'lobbyist'. While 'politics' may not be the ideal identifier, I don't think 'lobbyist' is any better, for at least two reasons - media / work history predominantly use 'campaigner' and 'strategist' over 'lobbyist' as descriptors; and lobbyist generally has a specific application in UK politics, as per the Lobbying Act 2014, which this person does not meet.
Open to suggestions but would prefer discussion here rather than unilateral moves. EardleyC (talk) 21:13, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved - I note the nominator moved it to lobbyist in November, if lobbyist is preferred over political strategist then there's no prejudice to speedy renomination to change that. - Support. the disambiguator "(politics)" is rarely or never used for political people, but rather for political terms, as in Whip (politics), Nativism (politics), Lame duck (politics), and others. WP:NCPDAB suggests: The disambiguator is usually a noun indicating what the person is noted for being in his or her own right. In most cases these nouns are standard, commonly used tags such as "(musician)" and "(politician)". The only general exceptions for biographies to my knowledge are for certain cases of sportspeople, where the sport itself is the disambiguator (e.g. Lee Smith (baseball)), but these titles are governed by more specific conventions than political figures, namely Naming conventions (baseball players) and Naming conventions (sportspeople). --Animalparty! - Comment it might also be acceptable to move this to Matthew Elliott (lobbyist) for conciseness (WP:NCPDAB also recommends: Try also to limit the tag to a single, recognizable and highly applicable term), but I'll leave it to those more familiar with Elliott to determine which of the two occupations is more defining and appropriate. --Animalparty!
