editSources are desperately needed Thanks, Asics talk 17:35, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
NPOV - I would change this crap, but metalcore is for dipshits especially the guy who changed my comment - Bookmastaflex 07:29, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
^ Your own POV isn't helping this article. I would like to make a comment on the a7x Unearth comparison. I know the comparison is subjective, but is it necessary? thanks for your time.
- I changed the referance to metal and melodic metal to metalcore. I think it's safe to say that most people who understand these genre differences, know that Trivium is metalcore.
WICKEDNESS!!
editthats all i have to say matt heafy is an amazing artist!!
Criticisms
editDo not remove the criticisms section.
lol Yoshiko heafy by the way f#$% dragonforce trivium are 10 times better then them
How is it possible that a biography of Matt Heafy, is actually just a diss. Blantantly trying to put him in a bad light, all that it does it present critisms from other inferior artists. Matt Heafy is awesome, Golden God at metal hammer awards, band live band at metal hammer awards, speaks for itself. and whoever wrote that they can't solo obviously is taking what was said in the write-up and reciprocating it. If you listened to their music and knew anything about metal you would know that your statement is pure rubbish.
Too bad Trivium is an awful, pretentious band that couldn't solo to save their lives.

i'm a close, personal, reliable source. i don't know how to edit the top of the page, but matt isn't close personal friends with the DJ from slipknot. he may know him, but it is in no way a major biographical knowledge and should be taken down. I also edited some of the his favorite bands, they aren't all true.
I don't find it notable to sing and play complicated riffs at the same time. Sure, he does that, but there are three-hundred other people that do. Muhammed Suicmez, David Vincent (bass, yes, but still hard to do), and Chuck Schuldiner all did that, but is there really any reason to note it? I will remove until I hear a convincing counter-argument. Cronos12390 00:34, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Don't find what notable? Maurauth (talktome)(wha?) 18:52, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I was not very clear. There was a sentence in the article saying he was "known for playing complicated riffs on the guitar while singing". There are many people that do that, therefore I don't consider it notable enough to be put in a wikipedia entry. Cronos12390 19:41, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
No Leaf Clover Vs. Self Esteem
editI've seen both in this article as the song that he performed in a talent show, which is correct? In either case, a citation is needed really. Adamravenscroft 17:10, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
It is most likely Self Esteem for many many reasons 1st of all, No Leaf Clover came out that year that he claims to have played it and it's only on the S&M cd so it's unlikely that he even heard it at the time, 2nd he claims that he heard Metallica through Travis Smith when he was driving him to school, which he didn't meet Travis til AFTER the talent show, 3rd Travis Smith claims it was Self Esteem, and 4th he only claimed it was No Leaf Clover after he went on his whole Metallica is the best band in the world tirade even though he cited Megadeth as his biggest inspiration up until about a year ago. --209.155.60.232 17:11, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorta along the lines of what I was thinking anyway (well at least the first reason), so thanks. If he wanted to pretend that he had played a Metallica song he should've claimed to play an older one...as well as maybe one that's good. :PAdamravenscroft 23:00, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
... Really funny. Whoever edited out the metal bands and put "the ramones" in the improvement sentence needs to get off of Wikipedia because it's not funny. (Cainen)
He played Self Esteem at the Teague talent show, and No Leaf Clover at the Brantley talent show the next year. I was at both. Coalesce002 02:34, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
Picture
editWhat happened to the picture of Matt with his Razorback in the studio infront of a mic stand? (Same one as 19th april 2007). Maurauth (...)
- It was a deemed to be a replacable fair use, so was removed. Asics talk Editor review! 16:14, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- How do you find out who has copyright of it? Maurauth (...) 10:36, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about this, I mainly ask the copyright holder if the image is released under GFDL. However, the best place to ask for this would probably be the help desk. As they meight know how to tell whether or not it is usable. Ask something such as "how can you tell if the images that I have found on website x are ablke to be used on wikipedia?"Asics talk Editor review! 12:21, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Sources
editWell, Maurauth asked me to take a look over the article, and especially the citations. Here is what I have seen-
- The image needs to have source information, and an explanation of (or a link to the proof of) why the image is the copyright status you say it is.
- It would be nice if you could convert the refs to all make use of the <ref></ref> tags, as well as the citation templates, which looks far neater.
- The lead section should mention things that are mentioned elsewhere in the article, it is an overview. Information about his mother and such isn't particuarly relevent, so shouldn't be mentioned in the lead.
- The whole of the 'Trivium' section needs referencing. It is the kind of thing that should be easy to reference to an online bio or something, perhaps an online bio and a couple of news articles/reviews- interviews are also good.
- Again, the Roadrunner United section could do with a ref.
- Trivia sections are a generally a bad idea, see our guidelines. However, if it is going to be kept, then references will be needed!
- The 'equipment' section is a little bit fancrufty, but I can certainly see its merits. It is very, very badly sourced, too.
- Some of the background info in the infobox is also unsourced- date of birth? Origin? How do we know?
- A personal life section could have its merits. People seem to make a fuss about his oriental heritage- that would be a good place to mention that, as well as his early life, and any relationships he might be in.
There, I hope I have given you a few things to work on or think about. J Milburn 17:51, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:MKH Signature Dean.jpg
editImage:MKH Signature Dean.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
What'd I miss?
edit- Marshall 1960BV cabs - Currently Used
- Mesa Boogie Roadster head and Rectifier cabs (used In March 2007-May 2007)
- Marshall JCM2000 DSL Heads (The Crusade)
- Marshall 1960BV Cabs (used in Ascendancy and The Crusade era; no longer used)
...so he doesn't use and does indeed use the 1960BV Cabs? I'm guessing the upper Marshall is not used, but don't know for sure so I won't go and change it.
Edit: Or did he first use Marshall, switch to Rectifier and then back to Marshall? That'd seem most logical to me.212.213.90.10 21:27, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
weird sentence
edit"He is the main songwriter in the band, and is also responsible for composing a lot of the music." what's the difference between being the main songwriter and composing a lot of the music? isnt that the same thing? --Gpmuscillo (talk) 11:46, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Equipment
editWhere the hell did all of it go? 96.242.38.28 (talk) 02:29, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Jack Bauar
Drop D on first two albums.......
editIS COMPLETELY WRONG. He used Drop D ONLY on Ascendancy.
I changed and reworded the section COMPLETELY.
96.242.38.28 (talk) 08:39, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Jack Bauar
Well if you had any decent knowledge on triviums albums you would know that they do use drop D on ember to inferno album aswell and the songs he uses drop D with are pillars of serpents, when all light dies, the decieved and washing me away with the tides. So get your facts right before you start stating wrong things...=] —Preceding unsigned comment added by SammYXBr00T4l (talk • contribs) 14:32, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Screaming style
editIs it worth mention that Matt has changed his vocal style during live performances? I see that his variation in guitars (6 string to 7 string) is worth it.
