Protection edit

Because of the continued insertion of inflammatory comments by a dynamic IP, I have semi-protected this page. I really hate semi-protecting talk pages, but there has been zero edits that weren't trolling in the last month. If an IP address (or new account) wants to comment on this talk page, I am more than happy to remove the semi-protection, just leave a note on my talk page or for a faster response, WP:RFPP. I have no problem if an admin removes the page protection. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 08:11, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Defunct references edit

Neither of the rferenced sources are available; I've sought alternative sources to verify the facts but turned up nothing except on wikipedia, its mirror sites, and articles originated by the Mater. Reluctantly I've deleted them; if anyone can add primary source references please do so. For the record they were

  • The Mater was established in 1906 by the Sisters of Mercy.[1]
  • The first Mater Hospital opened in a private house, ‘Aubigny’, at North Quay in 1906.[1]
  • In 2006 Mater Health Services becomes the first institution to win a Queensland Greats award.[2]

I have changed the references to sources external to Mater. I will see if I can find any more.

If you check the past winners listed on the Department of the Premier and the Cabinet site you can see that no other organisation was awarded the Queensland Great award before 2006 when Mater won the award. Would it be acceptable to make that the reference for that point?

Assessment comment edit

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Mater Group/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

The article needs expansion of the history section further.

The list of events could be expanded into a few paragraphs if sufficient independent sources can be found. It is likely that newspapers can be used for this purpose.

Does the hospital have any responsibilities as a training hospital?
