Why was the portion of her "hoping Trump gets assassinated" removed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:82:203:3348:25A5:F995:9AAC:402F (talk) 02:02, 18 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Maria Chappelle-Nadal responds to calls for resignation

edit

Maria Chappelle-Nadal put up a Facebook post saying, ‘I really hate Trump. He’s causing trauma and nightmares.’ “I hope Trump is assassinated!” When asked to resign, she replied, "Hell no." in an interview, and refused to apologize—twice.[1] Let us eat lettuce (talk) 16:12, 19 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

The use of the word "Aftermath"

edit

I reverted an edit where an editor used the word "aftermath" in the section describing Chappelle-Nadal's call for Trump assassination. "Aftermath" is not used by any of the reliable sources. It implies that there was a legitimate reason for her comments. There is no legitimate reason for her comments and the reliable sources do not provide one. It is POV-pushing. No reliable source, no use. Before that word is re-added by an editor that editor will need to discuss this on this talk page before you attempting to insert it or any controversial and questionable wording. The article is covered by Wikipedia discretionary sanctions because it falls within the topic of American politics. There be a concensus for edits.--SlackerDelphi (talk) 16:56, 21 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Using the word "aftermath" does not imply that there were legitimate reasons for her comments. Rather, it simply implies that because the event occurred, the comment was written. CoolieCoolster (talk) 18:01, 21 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
CoolieCoolster is correct. As ghastly as that post was, the person who originally posted it later made several tweets apologizing for their remarks. Many of the people who have tried to circulate the image on social media have tried to share it as well, but with alternative media news sources known for political bias. --Bushido Hacks (talk) 19:47, 26 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
