Redirect?
editThis redirect is ridiculous. Just as Standard Italian has been built on a Tuscan base but differs in some very marked ways from spoken Tuscan, so does Standard Punjabi differ from Majhi. There are numerous features unique to the spoken language in Majha which are not considered proper Standard Punjabi in writing. The conjugations of the copula are one example, as are numerous unique phonological characteristics. This whole dialect mess is in urgent need of cleaning up.Ihaveacomputer (talk) 04:10, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Changing of the page's title
editAlthough the name "Majhi" is widely used to describe the standard dialect of the language in India. It is not used in Pakistan, instead the term "Standard Punjabi" is used on Pakistani side, which is also common in India. It would be much better for the oage title to be "Standard Punjabi". - Isn't the standard language what most of the article Punjabi language is about? As far as I can see, Majhi dialect isn't so much about the standardised language as about its dialect base. – Uanfala (talk) 12:21, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
Punjabic languages and dialects
editI was researching on the northwestern Indo-Aryan languages and Punjabi, when I learnt about its dialects, I searched them up on Wikipedia and a crucial thing has been ignored here. The Punjabic language family, it is not mentioned in language family area of the article. Some people did try to fix this, but the edits were reverted. Kindly look into it as most dialects, I have come across do not mention it, not even the principle one. BingChillingChina (talk) 20:05, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
