Talk:Mahadaji Shinde

Cleanup edit

Too many weasel words e.g.

1. Great ruler of Hindustaan the Azimul Iqtadar Maharajadhiraj Srimant MAHADJI SHINDE Srinath Bahadur.

Needs editorial clean up

This article has become excessively long (49 kilobytes), rambling, and reads like a hasty cut-and-paste job.. It has too many headings, many with little or no text. Many sections have numerous grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors, and the article is riddled with ALL CAPS. The overall tone is non-encyclopedic: non-neutral ("The birth of a Diamond"), and anecdotal. Surely such an important historic character deserves better.Tom Radulovich 15:24, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
For the cleanup process, I've deleted anecdotal parts: 'Bilada, April 1749' and 'Vijaynagar, 1759'. Salilb (talk) 20:56, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've cleaned up the page as much as possible. Am removing the re-write tag. Salilb (talk) 15:25, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is grate article. All the editors are realy did very usefull work. Others than Maraths knows little about grate kings than Shivaji. This work will be proved usefull to westerm browsers.

Very poorly written article edit

This article is very badly written and cluttered with praise words depicting a non neutral point of view. It seems to be ill researched. Definitely needs a clean up

I agree. I've tried removing some unnecessary stuff. Will be trying to improve it.Salilb (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 20:41, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

DO NOT REVERT edit

This article is very badly written and has too many weasel words. Please do not revert violation tags until actual clean up happens

Non encyclopaedic references cited edit

The list of references is non encyclopaedic and includes among others private websites and a television serial. Better references needed.

I have deleted these references. Salilb (talk) 15:23, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mahadji Shinde Cleanup edit

I have been doing the cleanup of this article. I had to first restructure it to a large extent. I began rewriting it from a neutral point of view but carrying the essence of the legacy of Mahadji Shinde since April 2006. So far Ihave only finished "The youth of Mahadji Shinde". By the way I am reverting the cleanup-tone. All help would be apprciated especially photos or maps of the Scindia or Maratha dominion. Holy Warrior Tej 06:50, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Battle of Medtiya edit

the Battle of Medtiya section is a word-for-word copy from the Bahrat-Rakshak military website:

Battle of Merta —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 61.2.21.65 (talk) 01:49, 19 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

I've deleted this part to cleanup the page. It can be rewritten later.

Intro edit

Mahadji Shinde is how he was known originally. Mahadji Sindhia or Mahadji Scindia are modified versions that came later. Citations are needed for 'Madhavrao I'. Deleting his time of birth and date according to Vikram Samvat as its not needed. Salilb (talk) 21:18, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Death and Legacy edit

  • Saying that Nana Phadnavis poisoned Mahadji is a dangerous statement. Serious citations required.
  • Removed POV statements.

Oppose: [1] uses Madhavrao, and Mahadji is an honorific form. Charles Matthews (talk) 13:46, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
