Unusually editorial, isn't it? edit

I'm not trying to be negative, but this seems a very subjectively written, promotional-style bio. I'm sure she was important in a local context, but perhaps this should be reduced to more "encyclopedic" content. (I'd start by explaining what "first Lady of Hawaii" even meant, rather assuming it was obvious.) – AndyFielding (talk) 21:58, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Eh ... I wrote it. You might be interested to know this is part of an ongoing effort by the Women in Red project (noted in project banner above) to document what first spouses around the world do ... you know, besides being a figurehead. You might also be interested to note the navbox at the bottom of this article. The main article is Spouses of the Mayors of Honolulu - which pretty much in its opening lead says exactly what it means to be first spouse of Honolulu. Women in Red was created to highlight accomplished women to something more than a public figurehead's wife. Towards that end, we create as thorough a bio as sources provide. Perhaps you would like to start a talk thread over at WT:WIR. — Maile (talk) 22:15, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
