Not that I am a personal fan of Suharto or anything, but 'cronies' and 'henchmen' seem like fairly biased words to be using in this context. 188.220.41.41 (talk) 11:24, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

188.220.41.41 (talk) You are probably right, it is most likely biased, it is probably also correct and the mess from land seizures, appropriations and swindling in Lombok is still being sorted out. I noticed the section when I was editing the article recently, had the same thought that it was possibly biased, considered it for a while and then left it there. Frankly I think I would have a lot of difficulty challenging the veracity of the statement. Possibly changing it to 'operatives' or something similar may be more approproate however the truth of it is they most likely were "henchmen" (henchman |ˈhen ch mən|noun ( pl. -men) chiefly derogatory a faithful follower or political supporter, esp. one prepared to engage in crime or dishonest practices by way of service • historical a squire or page of honor to a person of rank).Felix505 (talk) 19:44, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

August 2010 changes

Religion

The section on religion is written only from the Hinduism point of view.

Lombok is a thoroughly Muslim island, and other religions are tolerated but practising them is not totally safe. I used to live in a village that had some fighting between hindus and muslims in the past. Muslims won.

Lombok is proud of its 4000 mosques.

I have also read that the second biggest religion is Buddhism because of the Buddhist villages in the Tanjung area.

Hinduism is just the 3rd most common religion because of the migrations from Bali and Hindu history like everywhere in Indonesia.

I am not an expert on the subject and do not have reliable sources. So, I leave it to somebody else to fix the section. Grel (talk) 14:01, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
