Alphabetic bias?
editUnless almost all people from the Boston area have names beginning with A, this list seems to show a rather odd alphabetic bias. -- Chris j wood 10:28, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, no. It is still a list in progress, and, of course, the first letter listed is "A". The others are being added as I go through them, alphabetically. You, and everyone else, are free to add names yourself. However, I would request that they all be individually referenced as per wikipedia guidelines. Remember, from the period the book covers, a lot of people from Boston are likely to have been important figures in what would be American history. Badbilltucker 14:04, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on List of people from Boston. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}

- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20060222101300/http://www.masshist.org:80/Cabinet/july2002/rowe.htm to http://www.masshist.org/cabinet/july2002/rowe.htm
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Bands and groups
editBands and groups are not people, should they be a part of this list? Should they have a list of their own? Nablais (talk) 15:13, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
- I agree with this. It would make sense to have a separate list of bands that formed in the Boston area (perhaps underneath the main list?) since most of those band members probably aren’t *from* Boston Dym75 (talk) 10:03, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

MAJOR cleanup needed: most of these people aren’t from Boston!
editAs a lifelong resident of Eastern Massachusetts — not to mention a proponent of accuracy — I have major issues with this list. Medway, Malden, Cambridge, Weymouth, etc, etc… these cities are not in Boston. Boston is its own city, not a mishmash of all of Eastern Massachusetts. If someone was born in Boston or grew up in Boston (like, the *actual* city), then they belong here. If they lived here in Boston for six years in their 30s, they’re not from Boston. If you want to create a separate list within this article that indicates folks grew up in the Boston area or maybe lived in Boston for a while, that would be accurate. Saying someone grew up in Boston when they actually grew up in Weymouth or Medfield is like saying someone is from NYC when they’re actually from Hackensack or Ronkonkoma.
