A minor question: Whitley is listed twice in the references with both numbers of his "Lesser Known warships of Germany" about Nürnberg. Could it be that one of those numbers is supposed to refer to Leipzig?

Based on what type classifications cruisers Gazelle class, Bremen class, Königsberg class (1905) considered to be light cruiser. According to the German classification are small cruisers. In Brassey they are protected cruisers. At that time the notion of a light cruiser did not exist.--Inctructor (talk) 22:00, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
