Strela edit

Strela-3 redirects to the missile. It should be Strela (satellite). However are these actually Rodnik? Secretlondon (talk) 04:36, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

In orbit edit

Do we mean operational? If something is still in orbit but eg tumbling is it 'in orbit'? Many of these listed as in orbit are long dead. Secretlondon (talk) 04:36, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • In a field named "decay/destruction", "in orbit" means exactly what it says. The satellite is still in orbit. Activity is irrelevant. --W. D. Graham 05:55, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
    • Sorry, I'd only just woken up when I posted that, and I snapped a little. There is no field for status because it is hard to reliably source the status of Russian military satellites, so for the purpose of this series of articles, the decay date is the one given. If the retirement date is known, it could be included under Remarks. --W. D. Graham 17:58, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
