Requested move 4 April 2024
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: withdrawn. No one has contested this, but I don't think keeping a month-long discussion open on an issue I myself feel lukewarm about is a great use of community time. (non-admin closure) Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 04:40, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
– (The last set of moves is not a requested move but a histmerge, considering one was copied-pasted to the other.) I'm seeking consensus on whether the (ethical)
article is a broad concept article that should occupy the base page name; it was moved in 2017. If consensus is that (ethical)
is not a broad concept article (or the primary topic) [or there is no consensus], I plan to open further discussions to see if a split (#Should be several articles above) is in order. - I've performed the history merge. No opinion on which is primary. * Pppery * it has begun... 03:18, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! My opinion—that the current organization of (ethical) is not ideal—is neither concrete nor strong. Hence the RM. The WikiNav data for February 2024 shows that all 22 outgoing clicks from the base page name went to (ethical). Anecdotally, my only other exposure to limitarianism so far is a recent news headline about Robeyns (economic limitarianism). I just don't know if that qualifies as recentism; the top DuckDuckGo results show some scholarly papers from 2022—mainstream media coverage seems to begin mostly early 2024, perhaps because Robeyns has turned the earlier paper into a book? tl;dr Unsure of the best way to proceed, I ask for a second opinion. - WikiNav data is similar for March 2024: all 22 outgoing links from Limitarianism go to (ethical). If anything, the parenthetical dab should be a noun—Limitarianism (ethics) or Limitarianism (philosophy), perhaps? Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 19:05, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
- WikiNav data for April 2024 shows that out of 44 clicks from the base page (Limitarianism), all of them go to (ethical). There are 97 incoming clicks total, so 53 do not result in trackable outgoing views. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 00:26, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
