@Aboudaqn: could you comment on this article's subject's notability? I can't find any evidence that he is a particularly highly cited scholar (in order to satisfy WP:ACADEMIC), and sources provided are either not independent or near-copies of the same obituary. I couldn't find anything more substantial in internet searches, leading me to believe that this doesn't satisfy WP:GNG. The awards listed don't seem to be notable enough to satisfy notability that way. signed, Rosguilltalk 23:29, 3 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Rosguill Let me reply narrow first and see whether this suffices: since Latgale studies are quite small, then there is both little to find about the subject, which makes Latkowski both notable and also may make lots of information about Latkowski hard to find... Yet one of the beauties of Wikipedia is the ability to make such information available. So, first, narrowly, in terms of Latgale scholars, Latkowski is a giant. @Aboudaqn: seems reasonable, and sources provided do establish that he has received recognition by sources in Latgale. signed, Rosguilltalk 20:01, 6 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
