Talk:Legislation on hunting with dogs
United States
editI added a bit to the United States Section - not sure if I made things more clear or less clear. Hunting regulations in the US vary so much state to state, and they're pretty arcane on top of that.
I'm not sure if there is any state where it's illegal to chase foxes with dogs. I suspect that's the case in Washington, but I couldn't find out for sure by looking over their regulations. In at least one state (Florida) it is illegal to hunt (i.e. possess a firearm in the field) foxes with dogs, but you can chase them. In some jurisdictions, chasing foxes with dogs while not in possession of a firearm might still be considered hunting. In my home state (Nevada) there is one "Hunt Club", but they hunt coyotes not foxes, and pretty much anything goes with coyotes. Toiyabe 03:16, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Word Etymology
editalthough the origin of the word 'paradise' does indeed come from a word meaning enclosed gardens, the English word comes from the Latin paradisus, meaning heaven or the garden of Eden. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.156.83.73 (talk) 20:59, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

UK/Britain
editThe section on the legislation in Britain goes into great and complicated detail about amendments that did or didn't get passed. Could someone please add a simple sentence at the end or beginning simply saying what the ban is, which is probably what most readers want to know.Kdammers (talk) 03:26, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed, however it also read a lot like a rant to me, with considerable duplication of content to the Hunting Act 2004 article. A such I have trimmed it heavily and moved some unique content to that article. I have also clarified in the lead that the scope of this article is world-wide.
