Sentencing edit

Under the Trial and Conviction heading here, it states Pavlinac was sentenced to life imprisonment. Cited to "Innocent Couple Released Man, Woman Served 4 Years In 'Happy Face Killer' Case". The Spokesman-Review. Spokane, Washington. Associated Press. November 28, 1995. Archived from the original on December 19, 2018. Retrieved December 19, 2018

However, in the lead section, it says she was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The nearest citation (Luymes, Glenda (March 12, 2010). "Happy Face Killer - Cold-blooded self-pity". The Province. Vancouver, British Columbia. Archived from the original on December 19, 2018. Retrieved December 19, 2018) says she and the man were released after 4 years but doesn't say what the sentence was.

In the article for Keith Hunter Jesperson, it states she was sentenced to a minimum of 10 years in prison and gives a citation to King, Gary C. "Keith Hunter Jesperson". truTV Crime Library. Retrieved on 21 August 2010.

I'm discussing this here in case someone can sort it out before I get around to doing so. Kirby777 (talk) 23:51, 6 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Misleading language in first paragraph edit

In the introductory section of this article, it states that Pavlinac was exonerated. In fact her conviction was upheld; it was only her prison sentence that was vacated. The judge who presided over her evidentiary hearing for release exonerated her former boyfriend, whom she falsely implicated in the murder of Taunja Bennett, but upheld Pavlinac’s conviction by arguing that her false confession legitimately led a jury of her peers to find her guilty of her alleged crime.

Ostensibly he made this decision to punish her for the subsequent murders that the actual perpetrator committed, that might have been prevented had she not derailed the investigation.
