Neither the Canadian Pacific Railway nor the Columbia & Western Railway have ever traversed this international crossing.

In the absence of adequate citations, the border post reference of 1897 looks equally suspect. The railway reference is possibly a confusion with the Great Northern Railway tracklaying from Marcus, crossing the border in March 1902, https://open.library.ubc.ca/collections/bcnewspapers/xphoenix/items/1.0186016#p3z-1r0f:%22inst%22
