Chart Positions edit

The single hasn't charted on the Billboard Country Music charts. The #46 peak is from Radio and Records' chart. Shall we delete it because it is technically not a official chart? σмgнgσмg(talk) 11:29, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

You do realize that R&R merged into Billboard in late 2006 -- and as a result, the R&R country charts are the Billboard ones? Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 17:49, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Oh really? Don't worry about it then. We have ARIA charts, not RIAA. σмgнgσмg(talk) 05:40, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

WHERE DID THE PICTURE COME FROM —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.139.93.185 (talk) 03:16, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The picture with Carrie Underwood Last Name.jpg is the official single cover, NOT CarrieUnderwoodLastName.jpg. Blackbirdsky13 (talk) 00:39, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 5 May 2016 edit

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: page moved. Last Name redirected to Surname. wbm1058 (talk) 03:27, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Last NameLast Name (song) – Capitalization of the word "Name" doesn't seem enough to distinguish it from the historical use of the phrase "last name" per WP:DIFFCAPS. For that reason, this article should be moved and then the leftover redirect Last Name should be retargeted to the target of the redirect Last name (which is currently Family name.) • Oppose I think DIFFCAPS is pretty clear about this: When such navigation aids are in place, small details are usually sufficient to distinguish topics. I don't think a reader searching for "last name" would specifically capitalize the "N" if they are not looking for the song. Hatnotes exist on both this article and the Surname article, which should be enough for any reader to get themselves to the topic they want. See Special:Diff/680515547#Requested move 7 September 2015 for a similar move request I started under my previous username. SSTflyer 02:14, 6 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Support convert "Last Name" into a disambiguation page, there also being Death Note 2: The Last Name -- 70.51.200.96 (talk) 08:15, 6 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Support: People (especially millennials, and children in general, historically) are notoriously bad with capitalization. WP:SMALLDETAILS was almost deleted last year, and there appeared to be general consensus the last time that it was discussed that the least useful case is capitalization differences, and even some suggestion that the WP:DIFFCAPS shortcut should be removed from it, because people are over-relying on it being meaningful when it rarely is (usually only in cases virtually no one would capitalize unless it were a proper noun, even if they were very ignorant). The problem in this particular case is that many poorly educated or very young people think that because names are capitalize "names" (terms) for names or types of names should also be capitalized. It's the exact same error as "My Uncle's name is Jimmy" and "Led Zeppelin was a great early Heavy Metal band in the history of Rock'n'Roll" (among other such errors one will see, e.g. "Led Zeppelin was a great early Heavy mmtal Band in the history of rock'n'roll", or even "Led Zeppelin was a great early Heavy Metal Band in the History of Rock'n'Roll").  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  10:01, 13 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
