Name edit

Technically, the actual species of "Kounotori" is Oriental Stork rather than White Stork. The White Stork is actually called "Shubashikou" (meaning red beak Kounotori). --Revth (talk) 13:45, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

There are two meanings of Kounotori in Japan. One is a Species of bird "Oriental Stork" found in Japan. Another derived from a legend imported from western world "White Stork brings babies to families". The name of HTV is chosen after the latter legend.[1] So there is no contradiction to call the space craft Kounotori ("White Stork"). ―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 10:12, 28 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Are all the HTVs named "Kounotori" or just HTV-2? This article implies that just HTV-2 is nicknamed Kounotori and nowhere does it use the phrasing "Kounotori 2". Rillian (talk) 03:57, 28 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

HTV (regardless of HTV-1 or HTV-2) was named to Kounotori after the completed mission of HTV-1.[2] So HTV-2 is officially called as Kounotori 2.[3] However I could not find the evidence HTV-1 is called as Kounotori-1. ―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 10:12, 28 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Citation problem edit

A cited reference, "Bauduin, Pierre (18 January 2012). "Cargo spacecraft "HTV-2" (Kounotori 2)". Retrieved 14 June 2012.", looks problematic because the webpage seems to be using some text from this Wikipedia article without credit. (Backwardscopy) Also, I fail to see where the date "18 January 2012" is. --Fukumoto (talk) 16:31, 14 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

That would be a circular reference, and is of course, not kosher. Did it ever get cleaned up in the article? N2e (talk) 21:46, 29 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
