Spoilers edit

Spoilers have started creeping back in. If they're going to stay the page needs a spoiler warning added. Shiroi Hane 19:50, 6 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

French names (accents) edit

I think we need to decide whether to use Eclair or Éclair as current both are used in the article - FUNimation uses both although the Japanese normally just use Eclair (probably because they have even more trouble typing accents than most English-speakers). I've never seen FUNimation use Lumière, and I think the only times Gonzo/gímik tried accenting her name they mispelt it as Lumiére. Shiroi Hane 19:55, 13 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Trivia edit

I'm sorry, but I really don't think any of the 'trivia' is either relevant to the article or especially notable

This is the first of 2 GONZO animes in consecutive years whereby Kuwatani Natsuko, Morikawa Toshiyuki and Nagata Ryoko voiced characters. The 3 voiced characters in Last Exile in 2003. (Coincidently, in Last Exile, the 3 seiyuu voiced characters on the same side as well, with Natsuko as Alister Agrew, Toshiyuki as Alex Rowe and Ryoko as Winna Lightning [officer onboard the Silvana].)
I don't think this is considered original research. It's just a list of similarities between the 2 animes. No theories and other stuff implied. I HAVE read the article on "no original research" .-yezhanuqan
VAs work together all the time
The series also shares some interesting connections with Get Backers.
The concept of a pair of friends working together is present in both animes. More interestingly, the leading pairs in both animes (Eclair-Lumiere in KG and Mido Ban-Amano Ginji in GB) have similar powers. Both Eclair and Ban have great strength and are skilled in close quarter combat. Lumiere's S-Class powers (electromagnetic manipulation of subatomic particles) are also surprisingly similar to Ginji's powers when he turns into Raitei; just like how Lumiere sometimes remind Eclair about her manners, Ginji also acts as a reminder for Ban's sometimes runaway emotions.
Superhuman strength is not an uncommon superpower.. ever heard of Superman? From what I've read here (never having seen or read GB), Ban only has a special hand. Lumiere's C-class powers mostly relate to control of electronic devices and her G-class powers enable her to control matter at the atomic level. Ginji looks to function more like an electric eel.
Both animes feature a number of initial routine jobs for the pairs, with the last routine one leading to the main plot.
Not exactly uncommon a weekly serial.. a variation of the 'monster of the week' theme.
Both animes feature a mentor figure for the leading pairs (Eclipse in KG and Wan Paul in GB). Both mentors are former members of their organisations (Eclipse was a former ES member and Paul was one of the founders of the Get Backers) and initially concealed their powers (Though not shown in the anime, Paul's powers include great speed and strength, earning him the nickname "Gale Emperor"). Also, both mentors had a secret hope that their successors will do the one thing which they themselves failed to (Eclipse hoped that Eclair and Lumiere will challenge the Novels and Paul hoped that Ban and Ginji will be able to enter Babylon Tower).
Again, not an uncommon plot device/cliche.
In KG, Tweedledee (Natsuko Kuwatani) and Sinistra (Nobuo Tobita), together with their partners, have both helped and hindered Eclair and Lumiere. In GB, as Kudo Himiko and Akabane Kuroudo, they too have helped and hindered Ban and Ginji. Even more interestingly, there are some similarities between Sinistra and Akabane (Both men are tall, handsome, polite and noted for their strength and speed).
Again, VAs work together often and will often be cast in similar roles. I was not aware that Sinistra was noted for strength and speed.
The leading pairs of both animes also try to help their targets solve their underlying problems, even if they techincally did not have to do so.

Again, I do not see how that is unusual. Shiroi Hane 13:52, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Category edit

Dear Fellow Wikipedia Users: I believe that this Anime also belong to the Mecha Catagory as well. So could someone just please add it up to the web page, okay? The Professional 17:58, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Characters edit

Okay. I have completely improved the Characters section of this article. Previously it was sheit. What I have done is taken all the character descriptions and placed them all on their own pages. BUT, and this is critical, for all the ES members, they as a pair share the page. There is logic behind this as for instance we never see tweedledee without seeing tweedledum. Also it helps in terms of not have to repeat oneself about information regarding the ships, robots, mission, joint powers and so on so forth. Currently all text is copied from the previous page BUT! all the text that was on the previous page was COPYRIGHTED! Thus all the character pages are breaches of copyright, this needs to be fixed. Rewording will do. Apart from that I am going to start work on the rest of the main article, Im hoping we can push this up to an A grade.

In terms of reworking I am going to push the episode info onto an each episode own page basis, and then being able to scroll through them and such. I.e. the Ah! My Goddess article. But apart from that I am using the a!mg article as my guide, seeing as it is EXCELLENT. Chow PS Pictures are crucial, before there were few and far between. Now there are loads, and to be frank, thats what really makes an article good. --Crampy20 11:48, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Most of the basic character information was pulled from the character page on my site, which consists largely of a list of facts so I do not see how it can be considered 'copyright', if that is what you are referring to. Shiroi Hane 22:19, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Eyecatches edit

This page could do with a list of eyecatch artists. The eyecatches are done by a different artist for every episode. I recognized Kenichi Sonoda, so these are some pretty major players in the anime industry. Juryen 17:24, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

There's a complete list on ANN, I seem to recall adding quite a few of them. Shiroi Hane 08:54, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Brief summary edit

Hey, guys. Don't forget that spun-out articles (such as the the list pages) are supposed to have brief summaries in the main article. You might want to use the leads from the spin-outs. I'd do it myself, but I am unfamiliar with this anime. Oh, and a review section would be nice. Or just about anything from a secondary source. Please don't think I'm trying to be mean. I'm just trying to watch out for fiction articles, since WP:FICT has been getting more and more strict. And, anyways, translating Japanese magazines should be fun for those of you who are otaku enough to actually speak Japanese. -- trlkly 13:45, 18 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Illustration edit

I would just like to verify something. Hidefumi Kimura is listed as the author of the manga and the light novels EX-Partner and Secret Affair. For the original light novel and Grade Pr. he had guest authors, and he illustrated them? It seemed unusual, so is it possible we got these mixed up and he authored them all and Fumuhiko Shimo and Tomohiko Aoi were possibly artists? Tyciol (talk) 15:11, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

The credits are correct as far as I understand. Here's the cover [1] and credit page [2] for the first Pr. novel and for the first of the three anime novelisations [3] [4]. Pictures of the illustrations and samples of the text are also included in the gallery. Shiroi Hane (talk) 22:43, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Kiddy Girl-and (Merge?) edit

Before anyone starting to add info about the upcoming sequel, Kiddy Girl-and, I suggest a seprate article for it. If it was cramped into Kiddy Grade, it'll be a mess. (205.250.255.111 (talk) 08:56, 5 October 2009 (UTC))Reply

I've started work on a stub at User:Shiroi_Hane/temp/KIDDY_GiRL-AND, feel free to pitch in. Shiroi Hane (talk) 12:41, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Y'know what? Go ahead and replace the redirect with your stub work. Then we can go on from there. The redirect of KG-and -> KG, that had me misled to believe that info for the two series are to be developed in the same article. KyuuA4 (Talk:キュウ) 06:49, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Someone set up a load of redirects (including peculiar ones like redirecting peoples names that are linked frmo the article but don't have pages yet back to the article itself). I moved the contents over and we have a merge request already which is why I started it off in user space in the first place... Shiroi Hane (talk) 12:05, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think the two series should be merged, since there's not a lot on the new page and it's also done for Code Geass, Gundam 00, and Fullmetal Alchemist among other series. - plau 12:49, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
There's not a lot yet, which was why I was initially buidling it in userspace. This article here was also bigger at the time; some sections were removed today. Shiroi Hane (talk) 14:36, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I would say that it might be best to leave the two separate, include a link back and forth and there's convenience without adding more to an article of such "low importance" (to some at any rate). Rampant unicorn (talk) 03:08, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

The new series hasn't been on the air for long enough yet to have much to write about, but once it does they should remain seperate. Kiddy Girl-and is not a second series of Kiddy Grade but a Spin off, and as such it should remain as a link from the original article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.46.232.130 (talkcontribs)

  • Different characters in the two series. Plenty of information to fill both articles, which isn't duplicate of the other. I'm against a merge. Dream Focus 14:30, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Second season (KG2) edit

Can anyone get any information from the single reliable source I was able to find: http://www.kiddygrade.com/pv/info/index.html  ? KG.2 was a cancelled alternative second season (the designs are clearly different from Kiddy Girl-and).
