What the hell happened to his moves? And yeah, he's worked for more companies than CZW and ROH. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.241.214.74 (talk) 01:20, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Trained by

edit

Trained by Jacque Rougeau, stop changing it back. This is a well known fact to anyone who follows the QC scene.. Leave the edit.. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MPJ-DK (talkcontribs)

Steen just said in a recent interview (story starts around the 6:20 mark) that Jacque oversaw the training but for the most part he was just the name on the school, while the majority of the training was done by Eric Mastrocola. Would it be appropriate to at least add Mastrocola's name in addition to Rougeau (though an argument could be made to remove Rougeau entirely)174.88.29.187 (talk) 03:19, 19 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

PWG, ROH

edit

Someone who is knowledgable on the PWG should update his career section. Same goes for his ROH apperances. Mr. C.C. 17:41, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

All I know about his PWG tenure was that he had one of his best matches ever at Astonishing Xmas 2005 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.227.201.201 (talk) 00:28, 23 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I expanded and cleaned up both his PWG and ROH sections. User:PCE 3:13 PM, 11 September 2008 (ET)

edit

Probably should leave a note here anyway, so it's all good. What I was going to say in my ill-fated edit summary is that unless things have changed, titles are supposed to be listed by the name under which they were won. Steen won the "PWG Championship." He has yet to win the "PWG World Championship." When/if he does, the link should bear the name "PWG World Championship," but not before. Tromboneguy0186 (talk) 10:49, 7 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Post Boiling Point Incident

edit

It's a little early to say that incident was "legitimate". His comments after seem to lean towards it being a work, as does the fact there has been no police action on what would clearly be an assault if it were real. The fact that one fan nearby says they "interacted" with the guys who got hit is hardly proof of anything. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.155.48.112 (talk) 20:19, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

do not move to Kevin Owens ... yet!

edit

This is an advance post of my Oppose vote to any requested move of this article to Kevin Owens. Kevin Steen is his real name, thus winning the longevity aspect, and under it, he's appeared on national US television via Ring of Honor Wrestling, and was arguably their #1 name having won the ROH World Championship. IMO, should not be moved until at least his official promotion to the WWE main roster. starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 08:56, 31 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Given the fact that Kevin Owens has already been promoted to the official RAW roster, and as of right now, is actually billed to wrestle John Cena in an official WWE PPV, I think is time to move the article. Anyone disagrees with me? --Aguilac (talk) 00:39, 1 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 5 June 2015

Kevin SteenKevin Owens – Officially requesting to move this article to his new name. Kevin Steen might be the name he used the longest, but it has become clear that he is now in WWE full time, and given his new exposure to millions of viewers, Kevin Owens is now the most recognizable name for this performer. Aguilac (talk) 03:49, 5 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
  • Aguilac and other interested parties: I only updated the lede and infobox to reflect the new name. I'm not familiar with WPPW's conventions—should he still be called "Steen" when he was wrestling under that name? And he's called Steen throughout. Some further cleanup will be necessary. As I was going through replacing all instances of the old name, I started to doubt that I was doing more good than harm, so I've mostly left it alone. --BDD (talk) 16:32, 12 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

edit request: Kevin Owen

edit

Please add

{{redirect-distinguish|Kevin Owens|Kevin Owen}}

"Kevin Owens" redirects here. It is not to be confused with Kevin Owen.

If the 2015 June move request goes through, then when the article is moved the hatnote would change to

{{distinguish|Kevin Owen}}

So depending on when this edit request is processed, either use the form {{redirect-distinguish}} or {{distinguish}} depending on whether the article name is "Kevin Steen" or "Kevin Owens" respectively.

On hold: I'll make the hatnote change this when the requested move is processed. Thanks, Stickee (talk) 00:05, 9 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Done Kevin Owen is now represented in the hatnote. --BDD (talk) 16:32, 12 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

There is NO reason for the addition of "of French descent" in the opening paragraph

edit

It is unneeded, and implies that he's a 2nd gen immigrant. It should be removed from the opening paragraph.52.124.92.11 (talk) 04:06, 23 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Also, one of the sources on the matter in "Early life" is dead. 52.124.92.11 (talk) 04:16, 23 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

As I stated to this user, it was already sourced in the early section of the article. The content is sourced then there is no vaild reason to remove the content. I did not add the source as the IP has claimed it has been there for quite some time. I simply restored already sourced content that says yes he is French decent which links to French Canadian which by definition are an ethnic group who trace their ancestry to French colonists who settled in Canada from the 17th century onward. As stated here on this article French Canadians. If the user has an issue with it saying French Decent then simply remove just the French Decent without removing the French Canadian link and it will change it to say French Canadian instead of French Decent. Now that the matter is here on the talk page I think it would be wise to see what other editors thoughts are. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 04:20, 23 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

By your logic, you may as well go to EVERY BLP of EVERY SINGLE CANADIAN and add "of x descent" to it. There is no reason to add it to the intro, sourced or not, because it is redundant. "of x descent" should be applied in the case of Sami Zayn for example, who's parents are both Syrian. However, French and English descent, in the case of a Canadian BLP is redundant unless they are a 2nd or third gen immigrant, which Kevin is NOT. Also, you are wrong; no source exists on the birth location of Kevin's PARENTS. There is mention of him being French Canadian in "Early life". Once again, adding mention of it in the opening paragraph is redundant. 52.124.92.11 (talk) 15:28, 24 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
AGAIN, I did not add it, AGAIN I simply restored already sourced content that says he is of French decent which links to the French Canadian article. AGAIN, I offered a compromise above as user has an issue with it saying of French Decent then simply remove just the French Decent without removing the French Canadian link and change it to say he is French Canadian instead of it saying he's of French Decent. Ive seen several articles that say "blank is a French Canadian blank known for...." whether you think it's redundant or not. AGAIN, there needs to be more users weighing in on this. AEW?

edit

Saw a trio of edits about Kevin Owens signing a contract with AEW and undid them due to a lack of sourcing and no evidence of the move anywhere online. Just wanted to drop a note to show that its happened before in case it's an issue again in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ThatsSchitty (talkcontribs) 07:43, 9 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
