boundaries

edit

Is it convenient to equate Kennington with Prince's and Oval wards? See http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/BC2414A7-6E9C-4BE7-BFB9-29181615D4D0/0/wardmap_2002.gif —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.189.103.145 (talk) 09:28, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I agree. This article is an example of bad local history, where because the writer(s) don't have enough information or knowledge about the area in question they lump in other neighbourhoods to bolster it all. The truse demarcation between 'Kennington' and other areas eg neighbouring manors or parishes is its boundaries. There is NO Kennington area in Southwark, it does not matter that because the road is called 'Kennington Park Road' it some includes all of that area, the road is in part a boundary with Newington. I shall alter those references. Tony S 212.139.233.11 (talk) 21:09, 19 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

dialling code

edit

There's no such code as 02077 nor does Kennington cover it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.189.103.145 (talk) 21:06, 18 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Agreed - and removed. Tony S 212.139.238.3 (talk) 21:44, 19 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

where it is

edit

Wouldn't it make sense to say that Kennington was only in Lambeth? It's hard to see which bits of Southwark's Cathedrals ward are in Kennington. The population-figure is for Princes and Oval and this makes sense. Vassal-ward is in Stockwell. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.189.103.145 (talk) 21:11, 18 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Agreed - but not all of Lambeth is in 'Kennington'; the originator(s) avoid defining it so as to lump in neighbouring areas because they had little to say about it. Aside from chunks of Newington/ Walworth in Southwark eg Imperial War Museum, St George's Fields and West Square; they have also 'adopted' into their self defined 'Kennington' parts which are properly Vauxhall and north Lambeth parish eg Waterloo Station etc. This is just bad local history.
