Discrepancy

Regarding the theory that the Kecksburg UFO was Cosmos 96 : This article mentions the theory, but dismisses it and states that Cosmos 96 actually crashed in Canada. However, it also links to the article Cosmos 96, which states that Cosmos 96 crashed near Kecksburg. Clearly, they can't both be right, but I'm not sure which one is correct. Space turd?

So the earth was struck by something that resembles a large interstellar dump? Well that would be my conclusion looking at the unfortunately colored dollop of "something" used to represent the UFO on this page?

Yes, it does look like a giant turd. It is supposedly an exact replica of the object that witnesses in the Kecksburg area claimed crashed near their community. It was built by the famous old NBC television series Unsolved Mysteries about 25 years ago for an episode about the supposed crash of whatever-it-was. Some say it was a secret Soviet satellite that went down, others say it was a UFO, and some even say nothing happened that night and the entire event has been greatly exaggerated. At any rate, after the episode aired and drew good ratings, Unsolved Mysteries gave the great turd-shaped object to the village of Kecksburg as a keepsake. My understanding is that they've left it atop a pole near the center of the village as a tourist attraction. It is pretty funny-looking though! 70.145.229.162 (talk) 21:41, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

YOUTUBE Video

Montel William's had a show dedicated to U.F.O.s and among his guests were Travis Walton, Dr Karla Turner, and a Firefighter who claimed to have attended the Kecksburg incident. Mr William's show is, or was, available on YouTube. Johnwrd (talk) 07:04, 9 October 2018 (UTC)

Per WP:YOUTUBE, there are many problems with videos posted on YOUTUBE which generally make them unsuitable as sources or for linking from an article. You would have to point to a specific video and present a convincing argument that using such video would not violate copyright or any WP policies and guidelines. I suspect any comments from the firefighter would amount to hearsay, and could not be used without verification from independent reliable sources. If such reliable sources exist, they should be used rather than a YOUTUBE video. - Donald Albury 19:54, 10 October 2018 (UTC)

This article has been edited by a previous author omitting the work of Owen Eichler Identifying the UFO as a United States military reentry vehicle. The UFO was a MK2 reentry vehicle with a solid fuel booster called a Manurverable Ballistic Reentry Vehicle (MBRV). TV Shows

I noticed that some point to a play link as citation, when Wikipedia is not really in the business of promoting those. A common criteria for lists is for them to have an existing article where they wouldn't require a citation. Exact location of the crash site

Please give the exact coordinates of the site where the object crashed. Also a map of the area showing the crash site would be a great benefit to the article.
