Appearance in Red Alert 2

At the end of the original installation program of Red Alert 2, technical specifications are displayed on almost every vehicle. Each vehicle is shown in 3-4 views, with divisions marked and labeled in short paragraphs, all illegible. One of them is the prism tank, and this is the only spec with a person in it, behind the tank, with a gun, in the bottom view. I honestly believe that this is Kane, although there is no physical resemblance, because the label pointing to this character states in four barely-legible words, this is Kane ********, for the last word is long, and cannot be read. Kane’s last name? I will add this to the article when I have a picture. What is Wikipedia’s requirements for conjecture ideas? -Helios Rex

Quotes

I have added quotes which were worth adding, and I have also corrected some of the older ones as they weren't entirely literal quotes from the original cutscenes of the games. I've also removed the quote of "Control the media, control the mind." as I don't remember Kane ever saying this in any of the games (the quote is from CABAL in the second cutscene of Tiberian Sun's NOD campaign actually). Yuri

I find it much more likey that Yuri was once not but broke away and Nod decided not to back the soviets again and fought Yuri. THere were all those times people avoided mind control I like to think they were nod.

• The RA2 pictures in Renegade mean absolutley nothing. There either a goof or an easter egg. And Westwood says it is? juh???!!! Until the day it died, Westwood always said that RA1 was the story-driven prequel to TD, and RA2 was a spoof, created by people who do not make RA1, TD and TS. Yes, some westwood employees were planning a sequel to renegade that would of jammed RA2 between RA and TD, but it, of course, never went anywhere, it was stuck in the concept stage. I already explained the "internal storyline" above, and there was never any RA3 in development, it only existed in an unauthorized email by Mark Skaggs. Being a large C & C fan and working in a retail enviroment at the time of its release, i vividly recall a statement (on marketing sheets) that RA2 was an alternate history of the C & C world, and if i reemember correctly isnt there a staement in the first game along the lines of "Tiberiums arrival halted the world war"? thats not a exact quote.. its been a few years--

A comment on cloning

It has been mistakenly assumed that CABAL had cloned Kane at the end of Firestorm; however if one were to notice that upon closer observation, the face plate and scars are still on his face and head. One may assume that if he were cloned, his damage from Tiberian Dawn (Facial Plate, Burns) would be gone.

I would like to say, this is true, you would not see the burns or scarring. BUT you must also understand, that CABAL is trying to use people to do his own ends (in the end encorporating everything into his system). It is possible that he is purposely inserting these blemishes to make any sort of cloned kane as much like the original as possible.

What I am trying to point at is, if you were something trying to take over the world, and were using a powerful military organization with a figurehead that has died long ago, but you have some of his DNA, wouldn't you not only clone him, but also clone the blemishes so that no one would be like "If thats such-and-such, where did his mole/burn/scar/etc go?" and prevent doubt from arising?

One may also realise CABAL stands for Computer Assisted Biologically Augmented Lifeform; meaning Kane and all the other humans in this scene are part of CABAL's system at this time. Therefore, CABAL is not cloning Kane

Someone removed the assessment request from the CVG Assessment page, but as the assesser was the person who had made the request, I decided to swing on by anyways. I'm lowering the rating to Start-class, because while the game appearances section is very well laid out, it is entirely in-universe, there is no lead, and only one reference. Connection to Einstein's time-travel technology in Red Alert 1

Anyone else notice that the visual effect shown when Kane "disappeared" just as the world-altering missile was launched in the Tiberian Sun NOD ending cutscene seems rather identical to the visual effect shown in the Red Alert 1 intro movie that depicts Albert Einstein and his assistant teleporting him back in time to erase Adolf Hitler from the timeline? I believe this is exactly how Kane escaped from the Ion Cannon in the Temple in Tiberian Dawn in the first place (though he obviously didn't warp himself out quick enough to escape facial scarring), and given the fact that the Red Alert story arc serves as the literal predecessor to the Tiberian story arc (i.e. they take place in the exact same timeline and not in alternate timelines), it could be assumed that Kane somehow has access to that very same technology. This would also explain why he never seems to age and has been working for Stalin in Red Alert 1 yet continues to lead the Brotherhood in Tiberian Wars. Tacitus666 03:36, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

there might be more then 1 kane... cloning... time travel... were both concept used in red alert. he disappeared from the launch center does look like chronoshift. the Einstein intro was my favourite openning of all time! where westwood flashes the same way as the chronoshifting. they really spend alot of time making the production a unique piece of work instead of just another game. Kane's approximate age?

Is it worth noting how Kane has gone from 1950s (where he was already an adult) to 2047?

Biblical and Qur'anic, or simply Biblical?

Am I mistaken in the belief that all Abrahamic references to Kane in Command & Conquer are strictly taken from the Bible? Nowhere in the games that Kane appeared in do I see any Qur'anic allusion.

True, the Qur'an does share the figures of Cain and Abel with the Bible, but each of them has a significantly different version of the two brothers' story - and it's the Biblical version that I see being alluded to throughout the games.

I had similar concerns a while ago, and thus went to request confirmation in the Brotherhood of Nod article's talk page. Someone with an apparent Islamic background responded that the Cain and Abel story is present in the Qur'an, and that the wording is virtually identical to the Biblical version. According to this individual, the only difference between the two was that in the Qur'an the names of Cain and Abel are not explictely mentioned, yet that "99% of the Islamic Sholars" agree that it is indeed the story of Cain and Abel that is being told.

I've been inclined to leave the reference to the Qur'an version of the Cain and Abel story in ever since, seeing as how Nod among other things is a secretive Abrahamic society predating both Christianity and Islam, which in modern times somehow managed to unify and rally the radicals, fundamentalists and extremists of all three the Abrahamic religions into a single religious military order, that then began to rise up against what could be described as the modern, secularist world. That's the reason why I would hold these explicit references to Nod's overarching Abrahamic nature to be so relevant to the articles.

One thing we could do is, simply, replace all "Biblical and Qur'anic" entries with "Abrahamic". Thoughts and opinions? 84.192.117.17 09:27, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Popular? Friend or Foe? Good guy or Bad Guy?

How is this guy a popular guy? Everyone likes GDI due to their versatility. Kane is now Ascension obsessed. I watch Youtube and he is a favorite villain. Is he hero or villain? He and the Brotherhood saved people suffering in Yellow Zones. He called himself the Messiah. Messiah means Hero. Hero means good guy. He even made the Black Hand and Confessors wear Capes and dark armor. GDI and Nod argued between each other and fight to be good guys. IG Nod helped people in Yellow Zones. GDI tries to get rid of the Scrin and succeded. He's a fantastic pantomime villain and we love him for it. Yes, he IS a villain, unless we're doing the old "I'm-a-member-of-Nod" roleplay thing here. He even tries to use a World-Altering missile on earth, and nuked the Philadelphia and tries to make GDI extinct due to the Pentagon was the solo HQ of GDI. That missile might or might not transform those people and might or might not kill them. It also destroys the oceans and turn the Earth into a Red Zone infested planet causing the Scrin to invade and harvest right away with more forgotten, visoroids and tiberium wildlife. 1st, he is popular. 2nd, he is the most important guy in the game (GDI or NOD, he's influence is the biggest!). 3rd, what you got against batman? can't a hero like black? 4th, to understand the man you need to know what he is trying to achieve; he is pro-posthuman, it is by nature that life will evole and he is just speeding thing up and not giving people a choice! >:) (but then US is unwilling to sign the kyoto protocol to save us from the heat so?). last, GDI is not all good guy either; they are a rebranding of the G8. they deny trade to countries which government are "uncooperative", but at the end it is not the government that suffer, it is the people and that only help those government direct hate against the developed world as "the oppressors of progress". while NOD is more evil, they do have reasons for gaining popular support. if evil can't be popular, hitler's nazi party wouldn't gain power the 1st place would he? No mention of Seth in the Quran

The article refers to the Biblical figure of Seth as being also mentioned in the Quran; trust me when I say that no where in the Quran does he appear, whether under that name or an Arabic equivalent of it. In fact, I don't think there's any mention of him in Islam, except perhaps in few hadiths/traditions (I'm not quite sure; if anyone can contact an expert on the matter, it would be helpful). I agree, these parts of the article would benefit from the opinion of someone with a real background in Islamic sholarship. Until then, I'm a bit hesitant to entirely remove the Quran reference on Seth however, exactly because of him apparently being mentioned within these hadiths.
